Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 151504 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

Stick 5.2 in the bank and get Ronnie from Southampton for 3 8, they can put on a sell on clause and I think we have enough to finish above 16th

To finish 15th is heaping a lot of pressure on young shoulders!

Only Zelensky has more to cope with currently, and even then some might argue the contrary. Are you sure you want that kind of pressure for anyone, much less Gorgeous Ronnie?

Saints bought him for £5m, they know his worth.

No way we would get Edwards for £3.8m with any addons or sell-on. They will want the full £5m, they paid for him, if not more.

For his age at that price, I think he's worth the risk as at this level, at worst, he's a standard Champ CB, at best, he's a top Champ CB. And that's if he never kicks on, which, if it happens, means we can have him for 10 years. For £5m, that's worth it at £500k per year.

Also, I always thought it was 20% of the full sale price for Eze (not the profits), so if it's £60m, then that's £12m to us.

One day, the accounts will tell us, in about 4 years' time.

I reckon Nourry will screen shot the transaction when it hits our account and put it on twitter, so everyone is clear on exactly what we've received and speculation can end.

Lads, the deal has always been 15%.

So, 60 million sale means £9 million.

Yeah, but is that 15% of the gross or net transfer fee?

Can I just say that this entire process has not been Eze.

Typical tight-fisted Levy trying to negotiate a cash plus player deal. Thank goodness Arsenal suddenly needed cover for Havertz. I hope they get the deal wrapped up soon so we can finally put an end to this saga and bag some much needed funds. It's been 5 years since Eze left QPR!

Not unexpected, but Palace have played a blinder here as well - set a price, let the player and their agent know they'd stick to it, and then stuck to it while ignoring fùckries from "bigger" clubs. Did the same with Olise and Guehi.

If Eze signs for Arsenal in next couple of days, we have a limited time span to beat the number of pages, we achieved in the Charlie Kelman threads.

Another 37 pages worth in 48 hours maximum to go !!!

C'mon lads and lasses. We've got this !!!

His boyhood club, good on him.

However, he went be getting the same love anymore. I can't bring myself to want Arsenal to do well under any circumstances other than when they play Liverpool

He will be getting even more love from me and my local QPR mates here I can tell you!

Genuinely chuffed for him and now for us, £60m plus £7.5m in add-ons, don't think we will ever be told exactly how much we get from the deal, realistically don't expect it to be more than 6/7 mil. But thats still great business and will enable a few signings.

Good on him. I’ve never had a “second club” but I’ll be looking for him to do well at the Arse. He’s a class act on and off the pitch 😎

I agree, we gave him his chance when others let him go and it has paid dividends for both us and him. Hope he continues to do well at Arsenal and I think we all know QPR has a special place in his heart. Still remember being at Stoke in the first game of the 2019/20 season and seeing him waltz through the Stoke defence to score that blinding goal.

Whatever the sell on is I genuinely hope we use the majority of it to reduce our debt, seeing what’s happening at Sheffield Wednesday should be a reminder to all the “sign a striker now” brigade.

The club has relatively little debt. Ruben converts the debt we build up each year into equity, hence why he now owns over 80% of the shares.

Ruben is perfectly entirely to just bank it as income in the P&L so we lose c. £8-9m (or whatever the amount is) less this year which he funds by putting money into the club every month (before he converts this debt to equity once a year). It’s 5-6 months of losses he wouldn’t need to cover.

But ultimately, he may choose that he’d rather the club spend it and compete. For him, in the grand scheme of things £8m isn’t much. Whereas QPR as an asset becomes worth many many multiples more if were to go up (and a bit less if we go down). He can’t just gift the club money to compete as FFP and PSR prevent it. Whereas income from player sales can be used. £8m won’t guarantee promotion, of course, but I’d be surprised if we don’t spend most of it, unless we already have spent it…

I seem to remember the Raheem Sterling sell on money being pretty transparent at the time and showing in the accounts. I might be wrong though, but surely we can do the rough maths re incoming monies from transfers, when the 2025/26 accounts are released.

I don't think it would be in the club's interest to announce the figure now, especially if we are planning more transfers this season.

This is great news all round, unless you are a Spurs fan - and then you must think you are becoming London’s Newcastle. Very Spursy.

Great for Eze, QPR, Palace and Arsenal - hopefully England too.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Beat me to it.

Reuben is a very rich man. Chansiri leveraged debts against the value of SW. Completely different.

imo arsenal is a better it for St EZE , at spuds he would have to chase back , do the running but at arsenal he can stay central, be the play maker as they tend to pass ball to feet and keep possession which would be ideal for him.
as for any money from sale, i would expect some to go to bank , directors and if the quoted 8m is to strengthen squad i hope we can find the players we need to score goals, stop goals and who will work for the team.
