Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 151544 views | sdm1508 | I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

I think he is ahead of Sterling? What figure do you have for Sterlings sell on in £m?

Eze on 11:22 - Aug 21 by GaryBannister86 | Or when we spend £8m bringing Nakhi Wells in from Luton, paid upfront in full? May give us a clue. |
Might be difficult to determine an exact breakdown of what's come from where if we get £10m for Madsen though.

Very little profit on the Samba transfers if any. Unscientifically I'd say Eze's brought in more net profit than all of our previous transfers combined.

Eze on 08:49 - Aug 21 by loftboy | Whatever the sell on is I genuinely hope we use the majority of it to reduce our debt, seeing what’s happening at Sheffield Wednesday should be a reminder to all the “sign a striker now” brigade. |
We've already signed 2 strikers in this window so there's little danger of signing another.

How do you measure the debt? At the moment our owners convert the losses into shares, so we are not technically in that much debt. However, if they want to try and recoup there spending isn't it something mental like more than £500m over the time they've been here?

It's a genuine source of irritation to me that we have to talk about Chris Samba when talking about our record transfer fees, that was the least subtle bit of dodgy book keeping ever.

Eze on 11:15 - Aug 21 by priceyparkrangers | For the last few years it’s always been 20% of the entire sale, from the likes of West London Sport, Sir Les himself etc… why in the last few days is everyone now saying 15% of just the profit. The difference between the two is £6M - I know the club is unlikely to tell us - but I do think we need to know which it actually is. |
I’ve found this interesting. There are a few possible answers: 1) the club want everyone to think we’ve received less than we actually have (competitive advantage and all that) was it will temper inflation on any transfer fees or wages we might need to offer. Wise 2) we have already bought Palace out of some of it (which might explain last summer’s outlay on Madsen and Celar without anything coming in. Accounts potentially declaring this income from July/Aug 2024 don’t have to be shared until March 2026. 3) Les/Hoos/local were all lying all those years back and it wasn’t 20% fee, it was 15% of profit. I find the latter hard to believe. It was universally reported as 20% of the total fee… That would mean it is one of options 1 or 2. As Clive has said, we’ll find out by March ‘27 or based on our activity in the next week or so! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agree with all this. Interesting (to me) that all the people who used to get stuff leaked by the club in the pre-Nourry era say it's 20% and all those who get stuff leaked now say it's 15%. Imagine there's probably some news management of the fee being paid now too by Palace and Arsenal so who knows what's really due. At least something's due. It's not really anyone's interest for the world to know how much. [Post edited 21 Aug 14:14]

Thought it might be lower of 15% proceeds and 20% of profit.

I wondered whether the 20% was linked to his minimum fee release clause which I think was reported to have ended in August. Maybe when that ended it reduced to a 15% of the profit instead?

I'm hoping we were using that Chelsea trick. I think we did it with Frey as well, where the contract is light for yr1 and then loads up deferring all the cost to next season. Otherwise its terrible business, like doing equity release on your house to go to the casino or something

The release clause is nothing to do with QPR. It is (or was) a contractual term between Eze and CP. we agreed a contract in 2020 that stipulated that further proceeds would be payable to the club should a future sale occur. Let’s say that was 20% of the gross sale. Now it remains open to the parties to vary that clause by mutual agreement at any time over the past few years. So as speculated earlier, QPR may have agreed to vary the contract and reduce the sell on from 20% of gross to 15% of net in return for a payment. At the time this happened the amount that CP paid will have depended on a number of factors, primarily the likelihood of a future sale of Eze and at what price. Someone said above that the difference is as much as £6m. I’m sure CP would only do business at a price significantly lower than that. We will have to await publication of the relevant accounts to know more.

We should have a live feed of the moment when someone from the club pops in to the bank brandishing a fat fck off cheque that has 'QPR FC' written in the payee section and signed CPFC, Hopefully the cheque is one of those huge outsized ones used for lottery winners, too! Check the date, amount of zeros, and the signature Rangers.
