Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 123254 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

I hope Eze gets a great contract as well. Probably double his wages at Palace.

So hopefully 9m coming our way.

Also if Armstrong is sold we might get two pound fifty!

Come on, let's call it £12m shall we

I wouldn't use the money to get Saito though. If his club is asking for £5 million then that sort of money for him means you can't have him sitting on the bench. However, I think Dembele and Poku offer more pace on the flank. I would be using some of the money to get a defensive midfielder who can take the ball and develop the play and also good quality left back

Although saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing Vale as that midfielder too

I think signing Saito for 5m would be absolute madness.

Edit- And I really like him!

Stick 5.2 in the bank and get Ronnie from Southampton for 3 8, they can put on a sell on clause and I think we have enough to finish above 16th

Assuming we already had some budget before any Eze money to sign the left back from Sheff United and someone like Hayden on a free, then I’d try for Ronnie Edwards for anything up to £6M+ add ons and then bank the rest.

signing Saito for any fee seems mad to me, nice player did Ok last year but we've already got Smyth, Dembele and CHair who can play on the left

Think it all depends on who else we bring in. If we bring in 1) left back 2) Hayden type player or Hayden himself and 3) box to box midfielder, then I’d be fine with 2m plus add-ons for Saito, 1 and 3 can be loans too. Saito is not a priority but if we are also sorting 1, 2 and 3, then fine. He’s good option from bench.

Now being reported in the Evening Standard that he's going to Arsenal or Spurs for between 60 - 100 million with us getting between 10% to 25% based on either the full sale price or the profit on the sale, which they've taken from a thread on a football forum that is considered a very reputable source.

Its happening finally.

Think it will be done by close of play Friday.

Then, we have ten days to get a full back and centre mid..

My high-ranking sports journalist mate who told me Eze was going to Spurs a while back now says it’s nailed on for this week

(Same caveat as before I hate ITK stuff and would never normally do it)

Fks sake.

This is why you never go near this stuff.

Would much rather Eze at Arsenal, feels like the right club for him.

COULD SOMEONE JUST BUY HIM AND WE CAN CLOSE THIS THREAD

Yes, it would be good to get Nico to explain what happens in this kind of situation. I wonder if our percentage is actually stalling the deal? Sounds like Eze is going to play tomorrow night. I bleeding hope he doesn’t get any kind of serious injury. He’s only got 2 years left on his deal so this is the transfer where us and Palace can make a few quid. They have Guehi out of contract next summer al he’ll have to be sold in this window again.

I can see why Nourry is tying a lot of players down to long contracts. Sounds like this is going to happen with Morrison soon. My one slight reservation is that if a player’s form drops and we can’t se them we are stuck with them with the likes of Taylor Richards etc.

No way he plays tomorrow if they’ve accepted a bid for him

Saints bought him for £5m, they know his worth.

No way we would get Edwards for £3.8m with any addons or sell-on. They will want the full £5m, they paid for him, if not more.

For his age at that price, I think he's worth the risk as at this level, at worst, he's a standard Champ CB, at best, he's a top Champ CB. And that's if he never kicks on, which, if it happens, means we can have him for 10 years. For £5m, that's worth it at £500k per year.

Also, I always thought it was 20% of the full sale price for Eze (not the profits), so if it's £60m, then that's £12m to us.

One day, the accounts will tell us, in about 4 years' time.

Really hope these whispers that are becoming loud chatter on Ebs are true

It’s a win all round.

Nice earner for us.
I feel somewhat more at peace following Ebs at Arsenal (who I don’t mind as a club)
He’s got more chance of shining at Arsenal
It also keeps Spurs being Spursy even in transfer market
Also added bonus of fcking Richarlison off who they wanted to part-ex

Nice

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

🚨 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐄 𝐆𝐎! Arsenal agree deal to sign Eberechi Eze from Palace, it’s all done ❤️🤍💣

Deal in place with Crystal Palace for £60m package as Havertz injury was reason why Arsenal decided to bid.

Arsenal offered better terms to anticipate Tottenham, after advanced talks for days… but never a done deal.

Eberechi Eze preferred to join 𝐀𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐥 over Spurs. 🧨

So you do pay the 20% then.

If so, then as I mentioned, I assume the relevant authorities would want the correct amount paid.

[Post edited 20 Aug 21:28]

You pay it and then you get it back. I don't think HMRC would be at all interested - there's no loss. It's not like stamp duty on land sales.

Agreed Lazy, since he left us I have read from a number of different outlets that the sell-on was always 20% of any future deal. Not profit.

If your business has full recoverability for VAT. Also timing on cash flow

Good grief what's with all this.

I think we can assume that all the football clubs in question are well over the VAT registration threshold. And you claim your output VAT back within a quarter. I doubt Premier League clubs are suffering such tight cashflow that this deal would cause a problem.

Good grief. 🤦‍♂️Threshold has nothing to do with recoverability.

I commented because you said business to business is irrelevant. That’s nonsense. Not all businesses get full recoverability on vat.

Typical tight-fisted Levy trying to negotiate a cash plus player deal. Thank goodness Arsenal suddenly needed cover for Havertz. I hope they get the deal wrapped up soon so we can finally put an end to this saga and bag some much needed funds. It's been 5 years since Eze left QPR!
