Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 146217 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

Eze probably off to Spurs this week. He gives his side 85 minutes and should have had the winning goal. Compare that to Isak’s behaviour. Eze is class on and off the pitch.

Yes, Eze is a class act and puts the likes of Isak to shame.

As it's you asking, and I can almost feel you smirking as you type your text, it'll either be a left back with long shorts who has never crossed the halfway line in his professional career. Maybe John Curtis.

Or Jack Colback.

Now you are talking Watford, a new one year contract for 'the ginger'.....that will do - where is he anyway??

£55m up front with £5m add ons apparently? in a world where Ben Doak is going for £25m. F*CK OFF PALACE

Wissa at Brentford seems to be agitating to join Isak's annoying band of precious little so-and-so's.

I'd also add Guehi to the Eze class of how to conduct yourself as decent when a big move is in the offing.

This article claims we'd receive 15% of the profit of the Eze sale, and states if he goes to Spurs they'll pay £55m plus bonuses. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/aug/18/eberechi-eze-tottenham-crystal-

So that's £5.4m, which would be disappointing given previous speculation.

Reportedly its 25% as Newcastle offered more at the time, but as Eze wanted to stay in London and join Palace a higher sell percentage was agreed.

I also thought it was a percentage of the entire fee, not just the profit?
So maybe £13.75 (plus 25% of the sell-ons as well)?

Whatever the % is and whether it’s on profit or proceeds, it must be on total value ie including add-ons. But you wouldn’t get the % of the add-on until it kicks in.

From Aiden Maguee, former sky reporter, on Twitter. “I was told by Les on the day of the transaction that the sell-on clause amounted to 20% of the profit. I have a whatsapp message to prove it.”

If I remember correctly, Lee Hoos at one of the fans forums, or maybe it was Les, confirmed this also. 20% sell on on profit.

No deals are based on full fee in reality, certainly not these days, and Raheem Sterling’s wasn’t either. That was also 20% of profit. Which had a low initial fee (circa 1m) and gives the impression it was full sale. But it was 20% of 49 million profit = 9.8m. “Nearly 10m” was reported at the time.

I mean if I was the club, I’d want everyone to think the sell on element is lower than is actually the case

whether it's 5 million or 10 million it's a big bonus for us
I wouldn't spend a penny of it on new players, we've already spent over 7 million this window, get our losses down with this money

The messages don’t make clear whether profit or proceeds do they? Agree that profit would make more sense.

TLDR: it’s somewhere between £5/6m (15% profit) and £12/13m (25% fee).

I know they’re trying to be more long term these days, but what spending some of that on a progressive CM would do to this team. Only problem is they the recruitment team that thought Madsen was the answer will have the cash…

20% is what I recall. If it is that of profit and the £4m was achievable then profit of say £40m @ 20% is £8m.

Assuming that we will have made £28m for Ebs and Palace £60m less our £28m so £32m .

Above example assumes a sale price of £60m

Only issue is that we only see benefit of that for 3 years as the loss improvement will only fall off after the 3 year cycle. So, it’s a temporary help. If we are to spend some of it, we need to spend it now, otherwise we’ll be out of sync for ffp. Although if we don’t spend it, it does mean owners have to put in less cash this year of course.

We haven’t spent 7 million. Our outflow on transfers is Net £2m.

Who have spent £7m on? I only think we've bought Poku and Kone for about £3.5m plus add ons at a later date potentially.

I'd be out buying a couple of decent number 8s.

I make it 5m out now and 3 in.

3m Kone, 1m Mbengue and 1m Poku. 3m in on Kelman. Add-ons for Kone and Kelman will hopefully net off when they kick in at a later date.

£7.8m or thereabouts is none too shabby - suppose we might get another £1m from the add-ons.

Agree we need to put a good amount in it towards future financial fair play unless the rumours of this being diluted are true...

A couple of mill on a midfielder with legs and carry wouldn't go amiss. Hope it isn't spent on a loan deal for some Prem starlet or the Iroegbunam rumours.

IN
Kone £2.75m rising to £5m
Burrell £1m
Poku £900k + add-ons
Adamson £300k
Mbengue free

Call it £5m but who knows how the Dembele deal was structured, could also be included in this year's outgoings.

OUT
Kelman £3.5m rising to £5m
Perhaps we were able to get small fees for Lloyd and Coopers loans out as well.
