Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 151201 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

Just scored a fantastic free kick but VAR has responded to Chelsea’s weeping and moaning and it’s been disallowed. What a load of bollox

Strong and stable my arse.

Apparently the Palace player was within 1m of the wall and therefore it got disallowed, which sounds ridiculous and will never actually be enforced again.

I mean , they are literally changing the rules on a rolling week basis now ! So you can’t be within 1 metre of a wall now ?
Tbf it’s not a bad shout if I’m honest but having var piping up for sh,t like this is gonna kill any excitement the game has left . Soon every goal will be the same as getting a penalty . Quiet cheer , little clap then fingers crossed while they look for a reason to disallow it
Load of bllox

Agree.

An absolute block buster of a goal.

If the powers that be, put the current use of VAR to a vote, to players, management and fans alike, do you think VAR would receive a landslide defeat.

I think most prefer to go back to the referees decision is final.

Yes they get it wrong sometimes, but things even out generally.

The length of time VAR takes and the way it is used. Its dreadful.

Just imagine Ilias scoring a free kick like that in a big game, only for after several minutes of adjudication, its taken away for very random reasons.

Its ruining games. I just hope in its present set up, the football league veto it...

Apparently it was introduced in 2019 according to Sky.

You are kidding me. So there have literally been hundreds of free kick goals since then that have completely ignored this rule for it to suddenly be enforced for the benefit of those tossers.

There'll be lots of appeals for it now, too.

Just think of this as God's way of telling Eze to go and play for a club big enough not to have VAR disallow its goals for spurious reasons.

Eze probably off to Spurs this week. He gives his side 85 minutes and should have had the winning goal. Compare that to Isak’s behaviour. Eze is class on and off the pitch.

I'm fairly sure we've had a goal disallowed for this. If not, the shot was saved & a free kick given instead of a corner for us.

I agree but as we all know the sport's bent. And the people at the top creaming money off it all have too much invested in VAR for IT ever to be fcked off, sadly

Shit but local

If Eze had curled that over the wall into the other corner or under the wall it would have been given. a laughable rule but thats VAR for you

Watch the defender who is pushed. He looks disappointed but doesn't complain at all.
Ridiculous decision. Would it have been looked at at the other end I wonder?

Anyways something a lot more interesting.......I wonder what the Club are going to do with the Eze transfer money when it 'wings its way' into the Club's bank account later this week.

...and before he was pushed, the defender pushed him! One could argue he was trying to create the necessary 1m space and besides, Eze still had to shoot in exactly the right space - travesty it wasn't allowed. Completely against the spirit of the game.

I remember Gerry Francis doing this much more obviously in the olden days...sigh

In another few years do you think we'll get a season where every single Premier League match ends 0-0? A goal was nearly allowed in mid-March but after 25 minutes of VAR deliberation they managed to find an attacking player who had strayed into the 4 metre goalkeeper safety box 3 minutes before the ball hit the net. Every team finishes on 38 points. Richard Masters declares Wrexham as Champions after a board meeting whereby they produced the strongest Powerpoint of performance analytics. Sky up their televisual feast for the following season to 8000 matches. No games were played on a Saturday. Half of them on another continent. Manchester United demolish the Ineos area @ Old Trafford as playing 5 games a season there is not cost-viable, instead they'll play their home games in Singapore and Los Angeles.

I'm so glad it's back.

Quick question, if he plays for Palace on Thursday is he then eligible to play in the Champs League for either Spuds or Arsenal?

He could play in that for the first half of the season and then move in January and be able to play in the Champions League as Mamoush did for City last season

As it's you asking, and I can almost feel you smirking as you type your text, it'll either be a left back with long shorts who has never crossed the halfway line in his professional career. Maybe John Curtis.

Or Jack Colback.
