Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 130562 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

...only if the VAT threshold window has slammed shut.

Let’s hope the VAT discussion also slams shut

Whatever the sell on is I genuinely hope we use the majority of it to reduce our debt, seeing what’s happening at Sheffield Wednesday should be a reminder to all the “sign a striker now” brigade.

A cautious and probably wise response to the 'Who shall we spend it on?' debate. No doubt a few quid will go on plugging a gap or two in the current set-up, but, I doubt that there will be anything spectacular.

We'll probably spend that cash all on Saito so "the fans have some entertaining players" again.

After all of this excitement and discussion, we'll probably end up announcing that Palace bought out the sell on % a year ago, so we could buy Zan Celar and Madsen.

imo arsenal is a better it for St EZE , at spuds he would have to chase back , do the running but at arsenal he can stay central, be the play maker as they tend to pass ball to feet and keep possession which would be ideal for him.
as for any money from sale, i would expect some to go to bank , directors and if the quoted 8m is to strengthen squad i hope we can find the players we need to score goals, stop goals and who will work for the team.

I would like to think that this is true but as they already have Odegaard as their playmaker and captain I find it difficult to see how they’re going to accommodate Eze, unless it’s wide on the left instead of Martinelli.

Yeah, but is that 15% of the gross or net transfer fee?
🫣🤣

Eze isn't guaranteed a starting place but it will be either wide left in place of Martinelli or central in place of Odegaard, neither of whom played well last season.

He's a better player than Martinelli but not Odegaard so I hope and expect to see him make the wide left position his own. I'm excited to see how well he can play with better players around him.

That's what I've been thinking. Perhaps we had 20% at one point but have already sold part of that like Coventry did with that striker I am not going to attempt to spell. That's why many people are reporting 15% now.

Yes. What makes me even more nervous is that he is such a good guy and he is no doubt desperate to prove to Palace fans that he is giving everything. Whereas most other footballers would stroll around and get themself subbed off as soon as possible, he won't be.

Argh.

For the last few years it’s always been 20% of the entire sale, from the likes of West London Sport, Sir Les himself etc… why in the last few days is everyone now saying 15% of just the profit.

The difference between the two is £6M - I know the club is unlikely to tell us - but I do think we need to know which it actually is.

Our history suggest a serious injury in the pre match warm up.

We'll only know definitively when it appears in the accounts - February 2027ish.

Or when we spend £8m bringing Nakhi Wells in from Luton, paid upfront in full? May give us a clue.

If ever there was a QPR player current or ex, that I'd heap praise and good luck on It's Eberechi Eze.

Not just a brilliantly gifted footballer but by all accounts a bloody good bloke.

(I'm seriously not Interested In what cash we get for him).

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Genuinely chuffed for him and now for us, £60m plus £7.5m in add-ons, don't think we will ever be told exactly how much we get from the deal, realistically don't expect it to be more than 6/7 mil. But thats still great business and will enable a few signings.

Would this make him our second AND fourth record transfer fee? That’s pretty cool if so

(Sterling 1, Samba 3?)

Says a lot about his character that with big moves on the horizon he puts on his clubs shirt and plays as normal unlike some scum bags.I wish him all the best ar Arsenal great player.

I wonder if part of our add ons was Eze playing in a European competition?

Could be due a little payment if he plays tonight.
