The QPR summer transfer rumours thread 19:06 - Apr 29 with 111853 viewsTonto

As they have already started, we need a thread. Suspect most of these will be wrong/clickbait sites, but lets store them in one place.

It's f**king babble. You'd think the PR team would be able to help him sound more like a human being.

Not many, and imo none of it adds any credibility to him outside of his own head. There's more than a hint of David Brent in all of this.

Listen to the language they use to convey otherwise simple messaging. Then go with your gut.

I agree, Watford

It really doesn't help his image. And it's a real shame because he's all we have to be getting on with.

Well if he presents like this on the council committee he's now on at H&F, it isn't going to help our cause. People will stop listening almost as soon as he starts talking.

I work by myself but good lord I'd be looking for the nearest exit if my boss used the words "latest recompense for our staff who have so enthusiastically embraced..." about overstocking a minor part of the business. Patronising and idiotic at the same time - impressive in its own way.

Ah, I see what they're doing now. They're going to announce all the previous signings-a bit like QPR Gold.

It's official now, was a pre contract before.

Not tall enough, but possible as hes out of contract it seems.

He played very well against us in pre season and Reading fans will be gutted if he leaves as he is a fan favourite.

Quite. The smartest people can take something complex and make it sound more simple and accessible for others than it really is.

And he’s in a role where he has to communicate with a large audience. What is the point of using language that is so inaccessible? He must be very insecure. Understandable for a young person in a senior role. Trying to demonstrate his worth and overcompensating.

That, or he is a narcissist.

He's a narcissist, 100%, so many signs of it....and personal views of him aside, that is a major concern in any organisation.

Another dev squad signing. This time a goalkeeper released by Spurs, Charlie Warren.

I lean more to insecurity as an explanation.

Same effect either way, and whoever he's wheeling out to fight his battles on here has been mis-appointed, if that's also a word.

Definitely smacks of a first year undergraduate trying to cover for the fact they don't have anything to say in their essay by using big words.

Nardi, Walsh, Cooper, Salamon, Halliday. Not sure if we kept Sheppard.

How many keepers do we need?

We seem to be trying to copy Brighton's strategy (albeit we are many years behind them.) Tony Bloom appears to be stacking young goalkeepers at Brighton and then loaning the better of the developing ones out to Championship/L1 sides.
Looking at their squads they have 4 GK listed for the 1st team squad, 4 with the U21s and 3 in the U18s along with 3 others out on loan at Hull, Birmingham and Sturm Graz.

"Remember to listen to me but look at her. Don't get it the wrong way round. That would be hideous."

Well, if we can get some out on decent loans and then have our pick of the best, I won't be arguing

I think at one point they worked out that defenders were under priced in the market (or something) so went big on them as they believed they would have a lot more resale value later on.

Seemed to work as they sold a few for fairly decent money (Ben White etc.)

Maybe they've identified keepers in the same vein.

I also read somewhere that they looked at testing out renting out their analytics systems to other teams, and used Ipswich as a test house when they were in League One? And they had to stop doing that when Ipswich made it to the Premier League?

Nourry’s clearly not an idiot to get where he is by the age he is. And as others have said his strategy makes sense on paper and he’s obviously trying to copy the best out there.

But he needs a better PR guy.

I think they know it is winding some up and are now just making them even more gibberish to read the reactions.

The best way for them to stop is to ignore it, and then they'll get bored.

Sheppard is a 'Discussions Ongoing' player. At the moment then that's 7 keepers in the first team and DS. A bit overstocked in that dept.

I think Sheppard serves quite a niche role as someone who is exclusively a DS keeper with no real expectation of progressing to the first team. That's quite helpful, providing a bit of experience to the U21s while allowing the other younger keepers to get out on loan and get minutes.
