Spurs v Man Utd Europa League Final 23:51 - May 14 with 3686 viewsnumptydumpty

Curious as to who others would prefer to win out of these two low level premiership teams.

16th v 17th !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can both teams get soundly beaten please.

If I had to choose, I personally would enjoy a Tottenham meltdown but neither team deserves to taste glory this season.

Long may both their declines continue

Spurs for me, a year out of Europe for United will dent their finances, and it’s funny watching their demise, spurs will go out in the group stages if not the qualifiers so a win win.

Got to be a United win for me

It’ll rank way, way down on their achievements
Whereas Spuds would be crowing about it…. They ideally need to be 1 up going into 85th minute and United bag two late goals.
Keep Spurs Spursy!!!

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Tough one but United just edge it for me. I don't think I could bear Ange banging on about how he always wins a trophy in his second season.

In the long term it might be doing Spurs a favour if they lost because they badly need a new manager and that would increase the chances of them getting one.

A Spurs win would create a huge dilemma for Levy. Ange is clearly out of his depth but do they get rid of a manager who has just led steam to their first trophy in 17 years? As for United, their support are just as an entitled bunch of filth as the scousers and losing will certainly hurt the club more financially as they are desperately trying to balance the books whilst trying to play catch up with 70% of the rest of the premier league. So a Spuds win for me as I see it the most harmful to both clubs.

Tottenham for me, I'm bored of seeing these memes all the time about the last time Tottenham won a trophy, I can't imagine what it's like to be a Tottenham fan. Plus being a Southerner of a certain age I know more United fans than any other fan group, each time they win a big game my social media gets flooded so I'd rather they lose.

Spurs. Grew up in the 90s and went to school with a load of insufferable Man U fans. Still hate them because of that.

For me Spurs for 2 reasons.

1) I have hated Man Utd since the Eric Cantona goal scored at Loftus Road at 5.02PM.

2) If Spurs win and get into The Champions League they are far more likely to buy Eze.

You'd be an unlikeable, self-entitled weapon with delusions of grandeur based upon some European campaigns 40yrs ago. Basically a north London Leeds fan.

Grandfather was a Spurs fan and took me to the old WHL a few times. Think he’d be sad about what they’ve become but then that’s modern football. Of the ‘big’ clubs particularly in London they’re by some distance the most tolerable for me at least. Having heard endless stories about the teams of the past I’ll have a drink for him if they do it which they won’t.

Nothing to like about United at all. Their downfall will always be hilarious.

Yeah I don't really get the hate for Tottenham from neutral supporters, like you say, they have the most tolerable fanbases I've encountered out of the London clubs, out of United and out of Liverpool. Tottenham would rank pretty low on my list of teams I dislike, unless someone wants to give me some valid reasons why I should dislike them more.

Crazy that after such abysmal seasons, one of them will get rewarded with CL riches...but gotta be Spurs for me, as you know they'll still go on being Spursy and won't build on it...but equally I find all the "how long since they won a trophy" stuff boring, so stops that.

The United car crash is hilarious, Ratcliffe / Ineos only making it worse - the thought of them not in any form of european competition whatsoever, and thus any player worth their salt who's even on the fringes of 'elite' not wanting to join them is just delicious. Especially if their rejects continue to flourish, eg McTominay gets to win Serie A, Rashford gets a move to a CL club, and even Antony, not a likeable character I grant you, looks like playing Europa League next season.

Spurs for me, for a number of reasons.

Firstly I know they've had a bad season, but the media consistently disregards the massive injury problems they've had. Would love to see big Ange stick it back to them.

Also, a load of lame internet jokes died recently when Harry Kane won a trophy. It would be good to see these tossers lose even more of their comedy material with Spurs also winning something.

And of course Man Utd are w@nkers.

As an Aussie I have to go with Ange and Spurs. Going to watch it with an old mate I played football with at Uni who’s a big Spurs fan. My late father however, was a lifelong United fan so I guess I’ll be happy either way. RIP Jim 😇

If Man U win, somewhere in the world Mark 'Kia' Hughes will be happy.

If Spurs win, Glenn 'Paying for their Past Sins' Hoddle will be happy.

Can they both lose?

Funny on the one hand if Spurs win, and Arsenal go potless again. But then I'd almost rather Spurs continue their trophy drought (I mean we've raised two trophies since they last won one!)

That Cantona goal certainly was infuriating but in that instance my ire was directed more at the officials for allowing too much added time. I was more irritated by Sheringham's dive for the penalty that sparked a 3-2 Spurs comeback win in the season QPR were first relegated from the PL. Had we won that match it could've been the catalyst for survival and our recent history would look very different today. For that reason alone the only time I could ever back Spurs is against Chelsea.

As for Eze, I'd like him to join a club with the biggest pockets and that's seldom Spurs. When it comes to transfer dealings, Levy's tighter than a duck's posterior.

Loads of family and friends are Tottenham season-ticket holders, so I would love for them to win it. It would also wipe out about 99% of Arsenal fans' tedious megabantz in one go, so that would be good. With Kane winning a trophy and possibly Tottenham winning a trophy, it could be time for some new material.

Surrounded by Man Utd glory hunters wherever I go, so I generally want them to lose almost every match they play.

Grew up and live in NE London, I can assure you Tottenham fans are perennially insufferable, whether they’re winning or not.
