Manager situation 09:47 - Jun 8 with 86225 viewsstainrods_elbow

MC has been on GL for nearly 6 weeks now - and not a whisper from the club, not even to clarify what they propose to do with him (or he with them)! It's pathetic and unacceptable.
The club also, obviously, needs to be planning its pre-season and recruitment. We're supposed to be operating a professional entity, with buy-in from the fans. Pah!

What will/should happen next?

Hardly anyone could get get Andersen or Kolli right but at least they had a stab at it!

If you look at daveB's post above where he goes through the 4-4-2 questions you will see the line about struggling to spell Esquerdinha is actually his.

I was just quoting it to make a lame joke!

Crap, is what it is. Total crap, all of it. There are people who say it isn't crap, but they're wrong. It was crap before and it's crap now and it will continue to be crap. When things are going badly it's because they're crap and when things are going well they're still crap under the surface. There is no chance of them not being crap, none at all. Crap is just what we have to put up with. There was a time when it looked like it might not be crap, but that time is gone now, and to tell you the truth it was still crap even then. Other clubs were crap and did something about it and stopped being crap, but if you tried that at QPR you'd just be descending even further into the crap. There is no escaping the crap. It is equally crap in whichever direction you look. The parts of it individually are crap and the whole is more crap than the sum of the parts. It's probably even more crap than we realise. When people are going on the instatubes and telling you it's crap, you should believe them. Our mascot ought to be a talking pile of crap, that's how crap it is. Don't take the end of this comment as a sign that it's stopped being crap, because it hasn't, I've just run out of words to tell you how crap it is.

I can just about spell my own name, it was partly a poor attempt at humour on my part and partly being lazy and not just googling his name

Don’t worry Dave, there have been numerous misspellings of Yang’s name and it’s only four letters!

Fabulous punctuation and use of slang in context.

Rubbish use of paragraphs.

Manager situation on 15:03 - Jun 9 by Northernr

As said higher up I think what's going to happen is we're going to have a BIG WEEK where literally everything comes out. Manager, signings, contract renewals, friendlies, kit launches. Announcement or two every day, drip fed out over a week or two. Twitter will go absolutely crazy for it. It'll play really well there. We'll be "cooking".

However, at the fan sites meeting in January, Nourry refuted our suggestion he'd saved up announcements for the fan forum to use as Easter Eggs. Said it was "unfair and inaccurate". When we pushed back he did then admit that they had indeed held the Dembele announcement because "we thought it would be a nice thing to do".

So I'd be interested if that is going to happen again. I totally get potential legals around a new manager (albeit that's a situation we've caused for ourselves), but there's no legals around new signings, and there's certainly no legals around telling us who your pre-season friendlies are. Those kit launch dates are clearly structured around the 'high profile' friendlies they've got.

I would suspect is basically bang on the nose, with the addition that I suspect they want to sort out the Cifuentes situation so that they can announce it all at once without the awkward questions of the old manager still being on the payroll.

Some great debates on here . Once again we’ve f**cked all the cards up in the air and now we’ve get see where they land . We’ll start with a new manager , some new players .
Jimmy will go . Some signings will work , some won’t .
Kellman will kick on and Kolli will end up player of the year.
We could up end up relegated , we could end up
In the play offs . I suspect we will end up 16th .
I know one thing for certain. We will end up having the same conversation in two years time.
It’s the championship. Managers don’t last very long in this leauge .
It’s seems CEOs do though .

We're obviously getting a new manager, and if it is Julien, then great - but its another guy who is going to need to aclimatise to the Championship.

Really do not want Cifuentes back: he doesn’t want to be here.

I spoke to Marti, when he did his lap of honour 'goodbye to the fans' prior to 'gardening leave'.
I said "please stay!" - his response was immediate, open, honest and heartfelt.
Shaking my hand he said " I REALLY want to!" and his eye to eye contact and mouth grimace (displayed when we cannot have what we want) told a tale of a man who DOES want to be here!
He could have ignored, shrugged, said 'we'll see' etc. but he didn't!
Talking to others after the game they got the same vibe !

Meanwhile as he was saying that, straight in your eye, he knew his advisers were searching for an alternative job for Martí.

If we do get a big week, with loads of announcements, I am going to start a thread called 'Cooking with Nourry'.

One consolation is that those rare seasons where we’re optimistic and looking forward to them usually end up badly (second Prem one, last season)

One’s that seem a bit meh sometimes turn out well (Warnock’s promotion)

I'd be torn on whether to delete it or keep it to bounce back up to the top every time we go on a six match losing run again.

As they should if he knew his boss and the Chairman wanted him gone (which he did). What else was he to do? Having a conversation with another club/employer happens all the time in football and in business. It’s not a sackable offence nor gross misconduct in any normal profession, and from speaking to those who have worked in the game, it’s not in football either. Happens all the time. We did it with Cifuentes’ agent to get him!

He could still have wanted to stay and also have his people protecting his future talking to other clubs too. They are mutually exclusive.

Regardless, it is done. We need a new manager and we’ll be paying for two coaches this coming season.

I wonder if we would talk to agents of potential managers who are already under contract to check out if we could tempt them to join QPR as head coach?

No, of course not, we don't do that sort of things. We don't want to sign people who don't respect their contract, and besides, we already have a head coach (on garden leave) and we respect that.
