Do tapping up rules apply to managers as well as players?
[Post edited 28 Apr 22:36]

you can speak to agents but not directly to Marti which is what it sounds like whats happened, could be as simple as would he want the job and then they decide if they want to make an approach

When we appointed him think it was obvious we had been in talks for weeks before an approach was made, he said as much himself when he first joined that he had watched all our games

Well, I’m going to take my ounce of intelligence and consider who might gain from the talks being announced. Could be Nourry, if he wants an excuse to sack marti. Could be marti if he wants to announce his availability. Could be either/both of them if he/they want to make the current position untenable.
I’m not defending Nourry. It may be that marti is being pushed out against his will. It may be that marti sees he can’t make progress here and he’s looking to move on before his value is diminished. Maybe it’s a bit of both.

Well, Marti had already alerted clubs to his situation with his press conference the week before and The Sun article in the week. Seems odd to do it again in this way, which might upset fans he’d told on his pre-game lap he hoped to stay.

You’re welcome to believe what you want. I think Nourry leaking it is by far the most plausible.

Look forward to your posts on other threads on this mb.

Why the need for the last part? He has posted on other threads. He’s just got a different viewpoint to you. As do I and 2 of the guys I go to games with. No we don’t love Nourry. And no I haven’t just started posting on here. And yes we like Marti. But I’m still annoyed at him for talking to West Brom.

And yes I do think it’s most likely that qpr told sky. I’ve changed my mind on that part having slept on it.

There’s a part of me that thinks they should both go. I want a manager who wants to be here and a CEO that doesn’t annoy so many of the fanbase.

We have a head coach who wants to be here , what’s changed is he now doesn’t want to be here working under this CEO.

What’s he supposed to say to fans who want him to stay? ‘I’d like to move to a club with a larger budget, but if nothing works out, I’ll see you next season’?

I’d like marti to stay but if he leaves it may not be that he was forced out by Nourry.

But you are right, I have never met either of them.

Straw man, alert!

You asked “How would Nourry know that marti’s agent has spoken to wba?”

I provided a variety of theoretical possibilities to answer this. No, I don’t know 100% for sure because I am not Christian Nourry. However, you only need an ounce of intelligence to consider who benefits from SSN being made aware of this. Doesn’t mean we know for sure, but as I said in my first post of the topic, I would be amazed if it wasn’t Nourry.

On a separate point, it’s remarkable how many new posters there have been recently, who only seem to post on threads discussing Cifuentes and Nourry, and all seem to defend Nourry and criticise Cifuentes.

I was in the pub after the game for a couple of hours on Saturday, and didn’t hear a single person putting forward some of these lines. Hardly any of the posters who’ve been on this board for years, if not decades, none of those who have actually met the man, none of those who have been talking the people at the club, none of them defend him. Perhaps just a coincidence.

Sorry hit the wrong arrow Hunterhoop your contribution to this thread is fantastic very calm and offering lots of information to those of us across oceans .
We need a major overhaul to stay competitive and consistant not up and down like a hookers thong if she even bothers with any

"Why the need for the last part? He has posted on other threads".

You beat me to it, he - SilverBirch - certainly has, for quite a few years.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I think it is quite remarkable that we have created, so far, 13 pages of pure speculation.

Imagine how many pages we could have if S Sports played for Orient and was scoring goals - we can but dream.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

The irony is that some people have (not necessarily on this thread, mind) but they can’t name sources for obvious reasons and get shot down for posting it instead.

And if silverbirch is genuine, then fair enough, apologies. I’ve been posting on this site (in its various guises) for over 25 years and I didn’t recall that username at all, certainly not one that had been posting for years. And I am aware there have been a lot of new registrations or dormant accounts created back in the autumn suddenly posting again…but only on one type of thread.

I don't know about leaks or who said what to whom other than what has been made publicly available.

My question is about the club's communication strategy: has this situation (i.e. the press reports) generated as much heat as it has with fans as a result of the previous reticence of the hierarchy regarding transparency? A couple of scraps of info, and we're all doing the full Chicken Licken (me included).

You know my opinion of Marti - if he goes I'll be pissed off but that's on me. The communication thing is just niggling away in the background.

I mean, there is one thing being cynical, but why are people so angry about it?

If you don't believe it, shrug your shoulders and move on. No need to speak to other fans like dog chocolate about it.

Fake news, conspiracy its even got to the vital influencing powerhouse that is LFW. I would say that If CEO is after MC this club is farked more that I ever thought. Clearly Noury ceo bolloc k chops is a bit to.inexpericed to run the show. MC possibly wants away and a bigger club. I don't think he willl get it as he not lit the place up yet. He needs a positive season to really make his name. Hope this all calms down

I find this bots ghost poster issue interesting. Would Nourry really do this? Seems a bit extreme and ultimately what would be the point. I suppose offering another narrative and challenging the predominant viewpoint. But what does this achieve. Just tends to lead to further polarisation. Honest question. Does fans network have the biggest readership? I reckon so. It is the only one I have used for years but are these ghost posters also appearing on the other forums Before you ask I am mainly a lurker but have occasionally posted for a number of years.

I just click on the username and have a look at the posting history . Some only post when we lose , some always asking about tickets , some as now pushing an agenda often with no other posts . If it is Nourry trying to manipulate the fan base it’s childish and patronising .

I do find it a bit irritating when it's pure speculation and then people get furious about it. E.g. If it's true that the Board eat little children for breakfast then they should all be strung up. Then the next poster says they'll be executioner etc. all for a made up story. I am aware there are some known facts but it does seem to get out of hand.

I can't quite believe either that Nourry or the club or anyone would bother to do this. After all, as discussed before, unlike the past there has hardly been a word of dissent throughout these dire years. And as we know, it's not as though the thoughts of the people on this message board are ever really reflected at Loftus Road.

However, I just can't believe that all these posters who have suddenly popped up from nowhere, only to talk about being anti-Marti - it just stinks or is incredibly bizarre.

Find it pathetic, really.

This is the most important thing going on at the moment at QPR though. I think arguments have been generally good and I’ve certainly changed my mind on a the odd thing. There was a fella who only posted on politics threads which I found a bit odd. Each to their own I guess.

Harsh, even for me, but an understandably polemical corrective to what's been a very unbalanced narrative about MC (which now shows signs of tipping a little).

No need to apologise.
You challenged NorrisGreen about their post and I questioned something in yours. I think it was then assumed that I shared NorrisGreen’s views. I don’t.
I just wanted to make the point that people may be in the know to an extent but then add on their interpretation of events from that viewpoint. Nourry is unpopular, is said to be unpleasant, has made mistakes…therefore Marti always tells the truth and is being hounded out of the club and forced into the arms of a club that might offer a realistic chance of promotion and double his salary.
