Sky Sports Breaking News on 20:09 - Apr 28 by gazza1 | No answer!!!!....just another statement meaning nothing. |
I mean there isn’t much you can really say to such a daft post. The manager who is about to be out of a job letting his agent speak to prospective new employers is no different to players coming to the end of their contract letting their agents speak to prospective new employers, as a ‘football expert’ would presumably know.

Sky Sports Breaking News on 20:01 - Apr 28 by Padulas_Shampoo | Some naivety here I think Gazza. First of all there is no suggestion that MC has been talking to WBA. Second of all I'd imagine QPR (and every other club) are routinely in contact with certain players' and probably managers' agents when they're employed by other clubs. The only difference here is someone, somewhere has elected to make it public to manipulate headline readers. You've kind of fallen for it hook, line and sinker. There's probably someone at our club right now reading your post, stroking a kitten and laughing maniacally. |

Sky Sports Breaking News on 20:31 - Apr 28 with 1647 views | baz_qpr | I think the reality is that it's the end of the season. There are a number of jobs available, clubs want to move quickly to resolve contract issues and clubs will be talking to agents to sound out interest. Just as we did with Hammerby to secure Cifuentes in the first place, in fact we had pursued for a long period of time and he wanted to see out the season (or at least whilst there was any competiiton involved)when we made our move. I dont really see how this situation is any different. Especially as we have heard from multiple sources on forums and social media media and hints from the journalists that Marti and Nourry fell out some time ago and a parting of ways has been on the cards at the end of the season for months. Regardless as I've said elsewhere in the thread, the chances of him staying beyond this season whether we did well or not were always going to be very slim.

But it's not exactly "stop the presses! Hold the front page!" Is it? Some gossip about a duff team, wallowing outside the prem that half their viewers/readers couldn't name 3 current players of - why would they waste their ink on us? What's in it for them? Literally the ONLY thing that makes it worth their bother is it IS factually true so chuck it out there. Cifuentes is very canny. We are but a stepping-stone for him and he's calculated he needs to move on pronto before his inexplicably healthy reputation is seriously tarnished. He has manoeuvred and orchestrated the narrative to suggest he's been let down by Nourry. I really don't care. Sooner the twerp clears off the better - he's out of his depth and should return to the rubbish low intensity subpar foreign second tier level he can scrape by in.

Alright Nourrybot3000. Keep your AI created knickers on. What he or his agents are doing happens all the time in the game. QPR have certainly partaken in the other direction in the world past, and probably have been in h the past few weeks! It’s been leaked by Nourry because it serves his purpose, just like Cifuentes almost certainly gave the go ahead to The Sun article because it served his. Ultimately I think it much more likely that Cifuentes is a far better Head Coach than who Nourry gets in. And that’s many people’s concern.

Sky Sports Breaking News on 19:30 - Apr 28 by gazza1 | IF MC has been talking to WBA last week then he is proper out of order, whatever his relationship is with Nourry. Total lack of disrespect for the Club, Players & Fans 100% - I hope it is not true. I have a lot of respect for MC and this, if true, will sadly change my whole mind set about MC. This matter, if it is as bad as being suggested, needs sorting 'one way or the other'.......very quickly indeed. |
Allegedly, its Marti's representatives talking to WBA, not Marti himself. But I do agree this needs sorting, NOW.

You know, it's really odd. Loads of my family and friends are QPR fans and talked to quite a few home and away over the last couple of years. Literally none would ever dream of calling Cifuentes such derogatory names as you do. How strange. If you are real, how you can dislike the guy is beyond me. Even if his representatives have been talking to WBA, or he did for Sunderland before, so what? He was probably a couple of chants away from being sacked by your man Nourry earlier in the season. What's he supposed to do? I wish him all the best. Still hope he stays, but wish him all the best if he doesn't and I very rarely say that when anyone leaves QPR.

How would Nourry know that marti’s agent has spoken to wba? They don’t get on. Marti will leave if he gets a decent offer. Nourry might be happy. I can’t believe he’d pay up marti’s contract. He might negotiate on the compensation. Even if he liked Nourry, marti’d leave if he had a decent offer.

I’m sure Cifuentes would be comforted to know he had the respect of a proper ‘football expert’ when he’s unemployed shortly and hadn’t let his agent speak to other clubs to sort himself out.

Err…WBA might tell us. These DOFs, CEOs, and Chairmen talk. It’s an industry they all work in. We spoke to Hammerby when we were in talks with Cifuentes. And I have heard from those who would likely know that other clubs told us last season when Cifuentes’ agent spoke to them. It also might not be true! And it is something that could easily be speculated. Cifuentes can’t come out and deny in case they did approach and the club accepted, or the club fired him and he took the role, as it would look like he lied in both cases. [Post edited 28 Apr 21:27]

Sky Sports Breaking News on 21:39 - Apr 28 with 817 views | sdm1508 | I apologise now. I read on Twitter (yes I know) that after the game Ruben was speaking to Nourry and he was quite animated. Apparently Nourry was talked to rather than it being a conversation. Not sure how true that is. Probably find out that Ruben wasn't even there. If, however, other saw it too, then maybe Nourry hadn't hit his target either or promises made haven't happened. Might be linked to the whole Marti situation. All hyperthetical but just thought potentially interesting

Ruben was probably f**ked off about the performance like the rest of us. Doesn’t he put in a million a month, or something like, to prop up the club? I’m only putting in £45 a month am I was really f**ked off on Saturday, still am actually.

‘Might.’ Did we speak to hammerby to get permission to speak to marti or because we’d agreed terms with marti, or just for a chat? ‘Heard from those that likely would know’ ‘It might not be true.’ We just have no idea, do we?

Straw man, alert! You asked “How would Nourry know that marti’s agent has spoken to wba?” I provided a variety of theoretical possibilities to answer this. No, I don’t know 100% for sure because I am not Christian Nourry. However, you only need an ounce of intelligence to consider who benefits from SSN being made aware of this. Doesn’t mean we know for sure, but as I said in my first post of the topic, I would be amazed if it wasn’t Nourry. On a separate point, it’s remarkable how many new posters there have been recently, who only seem to post on threads discussing Cifuentes and Nourry, and all seem to defend Nourry and criticise Cifuentes. I was in the pub after the game for a couple of hours on Saturday, and didn’t hear a single person putting forward some of these lines. Hardly any of the posters who’ve been on this board for years, if not decades, none of those who have actually met the man, none of those who have been talking the people at the club, none of them defend him. Perhaps just a coincidence.

Well, I’m going to take my ounce of intelligence and consider who might gain from the talks being announced. Could be Nourry, if he wants an excuse to sack marti. Could be marti if he wants to announce his availability. Could be either/both of them if he/they want to make the current position untenable. I’m not defending Nourry. It may be that marti is being pushed out against his will. It may be that marti sees he can’t make progress here and he’s looking to move on before his value is diminished. Maybe it’s a bit of both.

Harsh, even for me, but an understandably polemical corrective to what's been a very unbalanced narrative about MC (which now shows signs of tipping a little).
