The analog equivalent would be Paladini going around pubs in the Bush telling everyone how disloyal Ian Holloway was when linked with the Leicester job.

Analog equivalent.....

I think Nourry would take issue with the fact that he is not good at communicating. His article for Imperial Business School - https://www.imperial.ac.uk/business-school/faculty-research/research-centres/gan was all about his ability to communicate honestly with Gen Z individuals.

I thought he had been in football for more than a decade? He managed that at the age of 27 while still finding time to advocate on Gen Z's behalf? What a man.

No way. Makes no sense at all. They'll want a manager experienced in the top end of the Championship at least.

Unlikely. I expect Nourry will hire some young Euro coach who won't be difficult and will hang on his every word.

"It gives me some hope that either the Board will step in to strongly encourage Nourry to work better with Marti and addresse the issues he has raised, or if he doesn't move Nourry out / encourage him to find himself another job."

It doesn’t work like that though. The Board have nailed their colours on Nourry, backing him to the hilt in terms of giving him both CEO and DOF roles. And there is no way practically that you can just work better with someone. It's trust and confidence. And in any other walk of life, if you work with soneone you think is a c nut and who is also your boss, you end up leaving.

It's the collateral damage that will come out of this that will be a big problem. Chair may well go. Marti clearly rates him. I think we have seen what happens to us creatively when he doesn’t play - check out the start of the season.

There is a lot of speculation on here. It is just speculation that Marti thinks Nourry is a "c nut" as you put it. The only issue that Marti has raised publicly that I've heard him say, was about the huge number of soft tissue injuries this season which he wants the Club to look into. My speculation for what's worth: I'm not convinced that Nourry is sitting there so comfortably as you suggest. Marti is very popular with the support, rightly so imo. Nourry is not and if he moves Marti out he's not getting more popular. Perhaps more importantly, this idea that one young bloke can be both CEO and DoF was likely something they (Hoos maybe) came up with initially as a way of cutting cost when we were in a very tight FFP situation. This is not quite so acute now and the Owners may want to revisit that decision.

Had a look at the bookies odds for the West Brom job and I can see Marti is currently favourite at 5/4.

I personally think its harsh to be blaming CN for this, has he got it wrong with the Ben Williams situation, I would agree, but are we all perfect? No

At the end of the day whether Marti goes or not, we will still be here and the important thing is to support the team on Saturday and hope for a strong end to this season.

Lets hope the speculation is resolved sooner rather than later so we can all move on.

The more you think about combining those two roles, under someone not long out of university, the more insane it seems. I reckon Hoos just wanted an easy life - I'm a bit confused as to why he's still hanging around. I thought he was going back to the US.

Oh to be a fly on the wall at a board meeting.

Good point. I thought Hoos got Nourry in so he could exit the club? But I suppose you still get a nice wedge being Chairman eh?

I mean the story in itself is true Dave, his agent has been talking to clubs seriously since the international break end of March, but the part about it not being permitted is underhand nonsense - the end of season seperation was agreed many months ago.

That said i also doubt it’ll be West Brom, they’re just an easy mark for the clubs leak as they’re openly looking and so you can get a friendly local journo to top it up.

Oh yeah not suggesting it's not true but it suits the club to get this out there. His agent should be talking to other clubs just like we should be talking to players we want to sign who are under contract.

Will be interesting to see what happens if he doesn't get a job offer in the next few weeks. Do we go our seperate ways paying him off or just wait for someone to come in for him and get the money. It could turn into a real mess

Very true. Imagine paying off a manager as good and popular as Marti to leave. That would truly take the biscuit.

I'm guessing Hoos was just fed up seeing flags with his face on painted like a clown, or getting abused in the street before and after games.

Who the fcuk would want to be a CEO of a football club? It's the ultimate no win.

How long ago was it that we were all remarking how amazing it was that Nourry had managed to get rid of Dykes and Dozell for actual fees!?

Mad, not a job I'd want to do, even for a six figure salary!

Yeah I’ve been thinking about that last point over the weekend. It doesn’t suit either party for this to all come out and he sticks around (not without some significant eating of humble pie by Nourry via some kind of interview with the two of them, which feels unlikely).

As a result, it feels like one way or another it’s already done (either to another club or parting without paying him off). In danger of giving them too much credit there, but even for us it feels incredibly dumb to manufacture a scenario where we’re forced to pay off a manager because of briefings we’ve put out. Gut feel is he’s got a job lined up (but that’s all it is).

Lassel from your perspective do you have any feel for Ruben's level of comfort with Nourry? Sounds like they've had words at points re Marti's job so is there tension there or are they fully onboard and setting sail upon HMS Nourry?

Impossible to know, other than to say that Ruben is as much guided by fan sentiment as anyone involved over the past 15 years and saved Cifuentes because he had widespread fab support still.

Ultimately though the club has been openly for sale for 5+ years now. Carl Lindner kicked the tyres when his good friend Reilly bought in but ran a mile at the valuation, John Textor did the same more recently but also baulked at the valuation and Ruben simply doesn’t have time for the club. Every minute he spends on QPR is a minute taken from Westports which is growing at crazy rates and I’m sure he’s ‘happy’ to have Hoos and his protege Nourry to tick it over for him.

*personal opinion only* he gets the agreed payoff post Sunderland, the PR agency we employ put out a fluffy piece about what an amazing guy Cifuentes is, he we part as friends and how he’s always welcome back for a Rioja in the legends club and someone we have never heard of is very quickly installed as his replacement.

If Ruben is doing so well, why can't he lower the valuation? For the love of God, why do they persist in owning the club if they patently have no interest in running it properly?

It’s a ‘fun’ little plaything to talk about to his mates. For every pound he puts in to keep it going he makes 10 with Westport so why not hold out for your price to sell your toy. Other rich people have yachts, planes etc that aren’t investments, why not a football club.

Westports market cap today is c. £2.5bn and it’s increased over £300m over the past 12 months (it was more like £500m before trump went even more nuts) so is £2m a month a problem when you’re making £25m a month?

Proof will be in the pudding here but I don't doubt right now this is the most likely outcome.

When you think about it - objectively - Marti is possibly just about our strongest P&L asset right now. Who else would anyone pay a significant fee for really?
Chair turns 28 just after the start of next season and the club has been trying to get a fee for him for years to no avail, Dunne is about to walk on a free, Field is a very similar sitch to Chair in if someone were willing to pay a decent fee for him he wouldn't be here by now. Clearly there are other salable assets in the squad but I can't imagine anyone paying a significant fee for anyone else yet.

Burnley, Sunderland and WBA have all sniffed around Marti at the very least over the last 12 months. Rumours of Leicester too. Imagine if we had a player getting that sort of attention - under contract with a significant release clause - and we ended up paying his contract up because he clashed with our CEO... Appreciate that's not quite the same but it's ultimately true according to the accounts and our P&S headroom.

All the time we're constantly told of how tight our budgets are because LR is such a sh!t hole, yet we could somehow sanction this. Absolute madness if it comes to fruition.

IYO, Lassel - do you think Ruben might intervene again or are we way past that now ?

If we are past it, then surely there’s a settlement to be made to speed things along and move on to the next guy before contracts are decided and players change hands.

If not, does this become a me or him fight ?
