England women’s team 21:58 - Jul 4 with 14593 views | stowmarketrange | Anyone else going to Zurich tomorrow night? We are sat behind one of the goals in section B11,and although I’ll be wearing an England shirt rather than a QPR one,I’ll be waving my QPR flag, especially if Chloe comes on. Come on England.
England women’s team on 10:17 - Jul 18 with 1486 views | Juzzie | I watched the highlights and the whole penalty shoot-out this morning and I can only think they were all knackered as the penalties were so poor. Sweden had two match points (in tennis terms) and fluffed them both. Probably the worst & best penalty shoot-out in the same match! I see on social media supposed quotes from female players saying they should get paid the same as men because they play the same game. Either they are made up to generate clicks (because, after all, that's how it works..... deliberately say something wrong or controversial) or they are genuine quotes. If genuine, you really can't compare. It's like saying (in the mens game) the Carlisle goalkeeper should be paid the same as the Liverpool goalkeeper because they 'both play in goal'. The two game's (men's & women's) are completely different and should just be considered and enjoyed on their own basis, there is no point to compare anything, and that applies to the game itself, attendances, match income, salaries etc etc.

England women’s team on 09:33 - Jul 18 by GaryBannister86 | Why do you watch QPR then? I've seen us play football far worse than last night, I've seen Ready and Yates defend as badly as Jess Carter and I saw us in a penalty shoot out vs Sunderland take just as many bad penalties. I'm still supporting us. I don't understand why women's football can't just be judged on how good it is as women vs women rather than all this comparing to how they would fare against an u12 boys side or whatever. Last night was massively entertaining, and well done for them for getting through, somehow. |
I quite enjoyed the game, thought Chloe Kelly was excellent and Lucy Bronze is a better full back than some of the shit we've had. Kelly takes a far better corner than Joey Barton ever managed The penalties were hilarious though, very Chris Waddle at the end and what on earth was that keeper doing with hers Also thought the pundits were excellent, liked the co commentator and the two women at half time Williams and Ellen White were really good in picking apart where we had gone wrong I get lots of people want to compare to the mens and really it isn't as good which is partly why England have a great chance again but that doesn't matter, Rugby isn't as good as football imo but I'll watch the Lions game tomorrow.

Habit is probably why I watch QPR and hope........ I enjoyed it last night too, massively entertaining is well OTT as far as I am concerned, but it was basically rubbish football and no comparison to QPR. I do, however, get fed up with all this 'bigging it up' and women getting involved in Men's football.

Not to start an argument, but we do frequently see comments about QPR players being overweight. Clive for one is happy to point out when one of our players looks overweight. Just last season we had many comments of Ilias Chair looking on the heavy side after his injury that halted his start to the season!

I must admit when I first watched womens football I thought it was rubbish but this was a few years back , then one day I watched the England team and thought this isn't a bad level of football to watch and was really impressed. Now I watch all the England women's games on TV like I do the mens and really like it . Men who watch it and bitch about it are basically talking bollocks 🙄

England women’s team on 12:58 - Jul 18 with 925 views | Dorse | Quite like Women's football, to be honest. I primarily watch international matches but the WSL games I have seen have been decent too. I think it helps that many of the women's teams are getting closer in ability. It used to be a bit of a mis-match (or a 'Miss-match', geddit? No? Suit yourself) but the games are more closely fought now. I also like the lack of players rolling about and screaming like they've been shot or getting in the refs' faces trying to get players booked. That is a real pain in the proverbial and I wish the men's game wouldn't do it. This week we've also seen the first £1m WSL player. They're clearly doing something right. Also, Chloe Kelly: top notch player. Loving her work. Thought Agyemang looked dangerous too. Start both next time?

Remember that game . Bucharest played for penalties from minute one . S**t housing on an industrial scale .

Great post . Though it was a cracking game . Technically very good and apart from some poor penalties , there was some quality stuff there. Lucy Bronze is sheer class. That first goal was superb. A big plus for women’s football has been the improvement of goalkeepers. Always thought it was the Achilles heel but vastly improved now.

I went to the world cup final in 2023 here in Sydney. Spain especially were technically excellent. I don't get this obsession with men's under 16s would beat them etc. Low ranked 800m men would beat Keely Hodgkinson, so what? Katie Taylor would get beat by male boxers who'll never get near a world title. Irrelevant. The standard is getting better and better, there's an audience for it clearly. Mens football won't die because women's succeeds. Some males are extremely insecure and obviously mysoginist. The small cock comment above is probably about right.

There was a highlights package? Wow. I only watched from just after the start of extra time but it confirmed my view on this code. Absolutely shocking levels of quality. Each to their own. The over-riding thing is England are through though. I'd support England in tiddlywinks if it came down to it and it's good to see them progress so fair play and good luck - hope they win it.

She is such a good player and a good character. We really should be keeping an eye on her contract length at Arsenal and already be mooting her winding down her career at her girlhood club and true love. We will need to get the women's team up the leagues for that though!

It's hard not to compare it when women’s national soccer teams often play against U15 boys’ teams in friendly training matches. U15 boys typically have similar speed and strength. This gives the women’s team a faster-paced and more physically demanding match, helping them prepare for international play against other top women’s teams. Playing against quicker opponents forces tighter decision-making, faster passing, and better positioning. The boys gain valuable experience playing a seasoned, professional-level team with better tactics and game sense. But unfortunately, the women do tend to lose quite heavily - most recently the Swiss team's 7-1 shellacking versus an U15 boy's team which drew a lot of attention, especially since there were allegations the Swiss FA attempted to prevent this embarrassing result from being exposed, but one of the U15 team released the video of the game.

England women’s team on 13:58 - Jul 18 with 647 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Can't believe the criticism the women are receiving, but then that little weasel Barton is one of those throwing insults so I shouldn't be surprised. Men seem to miss a huge disparity that exists between the men's and womens games. The women today in their mid 20s would have started playing the game 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure there was very little professional coaching, academies or professional teams who took the women's game seriously back then. Key skills are learnt at very young ages, not teenage years. In 10 years the women representing England will be the first to of experienced a full academy education and the standard will improve. Until then some need to give them a break. Or don't watch it.

A male player ranked 200 odd beat Serena Williams. How come there weren't a load of insecure men ranting about it? Or is it only football where men are like this?
