| Madsen 14:30 - Sep 20 with 52153 views | Lblock | Been a harsh critic (deservedly so in my opinion) but credit where it’s due - good game today Put himself about and won a few tackles but also some really intelligent passes and took up good positions when out of possession Fair play Close to MoM but that’s Saito for me | |

| Madsen on 22:41 - Oct 4 by Lblock | Just back….. no humble pie. To add: He’s not a bastard hybrid of Patrick Viera and Xavi just yet. Doing well currently. I’m yet to see him dominate a whole game, maybe he never will, and that’s fine. What he is clearly doing now is using his 6ft 4 athleticism to impose himself, he wasn’t at all before. That is allowing him to do the bits he has in his locker that will make him stand out. He’s learning. So I also need to give credit to the coaching staff. Props. But today I saw something else as well. Something down to attitude and approach. He was barking and cajoling; he was encouraging and supporting; he was looking to dictate to his teammates and frustrated when they didn’t do what he felt they should. Now THAT tells me far more than 45 yard pinpoint outside of the foot chipped passes. Keep it up and we might, just might, be onto something here……. [Post edited 4 Oct 23:03]

Agreed - look at him on the final whistle in the background here if this works That’s a different bloke to last season who’s enjoying his own performances and getting some confidence https://www.facebook.com/share/r/177p6Hy6bc/?mibextid=wwXIfr
| Madsen on 09:11 - Oct 5 with 4495 views | TeddRanger | One thing I like about Madsen ( and a couple of our other midfielders) is how they’re playing first time balls forward while being on the half turn. Sooooo much better than the two or three touch followed by a sideways pass! | | | |

| Madsen on 10:10 - Oct 5 with 4299 views | SW_Ranger | My first chance to see the improved Madsen yesterday. What a change. No wondering around aimlessly, asking for the ball, pushing the ball on quickly, always looking around to see where people were and you felt he just might do something with the ball when he got it (he should have had more of it from his teammates for me). What he is also doing is getting back, disrupting and putting in tackles, some of them tough ones. If this is the improving, confident Madsen we are getting this season I’m all for it. Well done Nico and the management team for getting him this far this season. More please, more more more. | | | |
| Madsen on 11:30 - Oct 5 with 4122 views | WiliiamBlakeWasAnR | JS saw something in him pre-season. I remember him after one of the games commenting how a goal was only scored because Madsen had shifted the ball quickly. I think he decided in that moment he was all-in with Madsen, no matter what the prevailing view of him among fans. Should be a lesson to us all. Some players are confidence players and don’t have a prove-them-wrong response to unremitting criticism and instead need someone to believe in them. Dembele is similar. Who at the moment, like Madsen last season, is not being impactful enough in games. I reckon JS will show him belief and get more out of him. We can prob help too by not joining the playground pile-on. After all, we’re going to need him this season and, like Madsen, there’s a proper player in there. Great video clip but look at Freys face when Koli blasts the ball into the air he is probably thinking fcuk I have to chase after that thing . Its brilliant when we win away against the odds the players and fans seem to enjoy it a bit more | | | |

Yeah I say Frey’s face as well, very funny A proper “oh DO fcuk off” look it was!!
| Madsen on 15:57 - Oct 5 with 3526 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Again, the change in style from pish ball to direct has had a huge impact on several players, Madsen most. I makes a difference if those around you and ahead are actually moving and have pace so that you can play a pass. I know MC did well, but I am starting to think a lot of the problems last season were not solely down to the players. | |

Exactly. I'll often replay certain moments in my head well after the game is over. Late in the match, with the ball in our half, Madsen intentionally deflected a subtle little back-heel to Kolli standing behind him. It opened up the entire Bristol half of the pitch. I think he possesses an 'in-game' awareness that separates the footballing artists from the journeymen.

Weirdly i thought this watching the Bristol game. Obviously nowhere near the great man's qualities but the ability to have vision and quick thinking, seems to be a rare quality in centre mids these days, so when one turns up occasionally a la Madsen thoughts of previous greats come to mind. | Madsen on 05:22 - Oct 6 with 2551 views | cpgerber | Massive kudos to Madsen. Here's a guy who had a, well, not so good, season, took abuse from fans and could easily have said "this is not working, let's move on". Instead, he stuck to it and is turning it around. His pre-season interview in Spain saying just that. For me again testimony that the club is attracting the right type of personalities at the moment. A far cry from the crowd we had here in the post Beale days. Well done Nicholas, keep it going!
| Madsen on 10:23 - Oct 6 with 2227 views | W7Ranger | Really rate him. Even from the beginning I thought there was something there and wasn't as bad as what some fans made him out to be. I'm really pleased for him that it seems to have really turned around for him now and the fans can see what a really good player he could be for us. Keep going Mads. PS. Absolutely loved his reaction at the FT whistle on Saturday. | | | |

| Madsen on 16:29 - Oct 6 with 1887 views | dutch | A while back I said that Madsen reminded me of no less than Don Masson and got told I was wearing rose tinted specs. Since then I have become more convinced that he is a genuine midfield General. Doesn't leave the centre circle too often but plays that quarterback role very well. Takes good corners and free kicks, has a very quick footballing brain so doesn't need to be fast on his feet. He is genuinely the first name on the team sheet for me at the moment and should get even better as the players ahead of him bed in and anticipate his one touch through balls. | | | |
| Madsen on 16:39 - Oct 6 with 1856 views | Esox_Lucius | None of the above will mean anything until PRR admits that he isn't the worst player to wear the Hoops. | |

| Madsen on 04:55 - Oct 7 with 1384 views | QPROslo |
That is some stat. I have always really liked Madsen's game for his vision, quick passing, and his wand of a right peg. I thought he was best played advanced in attacking midfield, a 10 more than a 6 or 8. All credit to him for improving this defensive part of his game, but also to Stefan and his staff for recognising it. We have a really good player on our books if he can keep this going and hopefully improve further.
| Madsen on 07:54 - Oct 7 with 1228 views | numptydumpty |
Wow. What a Stat. If someone on here had said this about Madsen last season, their sanity would have been questioned. His improvement for me this season, has been extraordinary. His game is more about his abilities to see the forward pass, but adding bite to his game on top of developing his creativity, its quite incredible. Very early days but if this form continues, he has a very decent season ahead of him.
