Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 21:28 - Sep 30 by paulparker | I’d have him working at the club shop , or behind the bar at the South Africa road Apart from one season 2 years ago he has done nothing for QPR, a complete waste of time and money |
While he’s seeing out the rest of his ‘Long term contract’ 😡 maybe he could train to be a Physiotherapist; he’s spent so long in the medical suite he must know a few things by now.

Well he'd just come off a full season where he was one of best CBs in the league, wanted by Wolves at the time, give it a rest with the hindsight. Feel bad for the bloke

everything is easy in hindsight, at the time he was in the team playing and people said it was a great move to tie him down for a few years rather than lose him on a free [Post edited 30 Sep 22:01]

Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 22:08 - Sep 30 with 2205 views | Lblock | Nah Not for me Jeff You just cannot be that fragile as a Centreback I never agreed with the new deal precisely because of his availability record. It’s terrible. Maybe we can sit him down with the quacks and agree his career is over and sort out an insurance payment. Massive chunk of budget made of sugar and holding us back. Contrast with the Captain. JGS might be a silkier player but I know who I’d want alongside me in the trenches

Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 22:28 - Sep 30 with 2088 views | EN_Ranger | He’s not like Caulker, he must be absolutely gutted to be so injury prone. But then if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be at QPR and those are the gambles we take. I feel sorry for him but it’s ridiculous he’s one of our top earners, albeit not his fault. Would love to see him and Morrison build a partnership but I doubt it will ever happen. Shame for us and shame for JCS

Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 22:44 - Sep 30 with 1964 views | numptydumpty | Was anyone there - was it an injury or was he just given the first eleven minutes because from sounds i had heard, there was a likelihood that he was to be on the bench v Oxford. And better to be given minutes at the start, rather than the end if he was to be on the bench tomorrow. if he has actually picked up another recurring injury immediately then one we need to make plans to offload him and Ben Williams speaking all these big biological words that us mere mortals, wouldn't have the intelligence to understand allegedly, really knows sod all, and this loading nonsense is indeed total tosh !!! i cant understand how he could get injured straight away and this seems to me like a smoke screen by the club again and he will get last thirty minutes against Oxford surely.

reports are he was rubbing his groin and talking to the bench so came off Would be a bit mad to only play 11 mins as part of a plan

One thing i would say is Madsen last season was called out by loads on here and insulted by many but he turned up every game and put himself out there and some were downright nasty in his direction. Clarke Salter is out for months at a time and its like poor Jake - feel for the guy - how gutted must he be and yet the likelihood is he is on a higher salary than Madsen and am not advocating nastiness in his direction at all, but as said Madsen got pelters, but he turned up every week and currently is now performing. Clarke Salter may well have been decent for 11 minutes, and despite supposedly being a high earner, gets the boo boys sympathy. Find the logic here, very weird !!!

He could have come on at the end for the last 11 minutes, which many returning players do. Am clutching at straws, because if he is injured, our performance director et all have not been clever at all...

Come on we have had a few but saying go on Clark play 11 minutes in the dev squad game . Then ur fit enough to be on the bench for Oxford tommorow night . Ben we love to see our fav players William’s ain’t that good , and while on the subject of players being out. Chair and poku being the example , why do u think the club won't actually say what’s wrong with them ? Could it be yet another muscle injury they have? To admit that means superstar Ben has fecked up again and we can’t have the fans knowing that can we.

Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 23:26 - Sep 30 with 1727 views | davman | So many weird speculative takes on this thread. It looks bad, looks awful, but who knows? Maybe he had a twinge and they felt the need to take him off because they are taking ZERO chances with him this time round. Maybe it was related to the hip issue or the calf or one of the many injuries he has had. Or maybe it was just unlucky and could happen to anyone. Maybe he is laughing because he conned the club into believing that they could get him playing. Maybe he is slipping into a really, really dark place as he is doing everything the medical guys tell him and still is breaking down. I have no idea yet, so speculating is pointless. Yes, we're all frustrated and yes, it always feels like we're a few matches away from yet another injury crisis, Maybe we ARE the cursed club. Who knows? All I say is, get back asap Jake, we're going to need you when Amadou gets his fifth booking of the season...

It was WLS that said he could be on the pitch and in the squad for the Oxford game but if not that, almost certainly the Bristol match. And said he would be tested in training today. They are not often wrong. [Post edited 30 Sep 23:27]

He's actually a very dedicated player who is an incredible centre back for us when available. Seems to be injured more than matthew rose though I wish him a speedy recovery and want to see him back for us asap

Well, two thirds of a season - didn't he play 30 games? And let's get real - if Wolves had wanted him that's where he'd be.

Thus, I wonder what Gerry Francis would have been accused of being if we'd had t'internet back in the day. To be as good as JCS was/is, or could have been, but for injury, not something to mock in my book. I feel for the lad and hope it's nothing more than everyone being overly cautious.

Lesser spotted Clarke Salter on 08:35 - Oct 1 with 869 views | stevec | I’d imagine his wages per annum are nearer the £1m mark than any other significant number and given his whole career has been one injury after another, it’s hard to see he’d have been sold for much profit. What is certain is we’ll never sell him for anything now and he’s probably contracted well into his 30’s. On numbers alone it’s hard to understand how anyone at the club thought an extended contract was the answer.

So that doesn’t look good, he isn’t taking us for a ride, genuinely feels sorry for him. As Clive often says players are with us for a reason, if his fitness had been reliable he would be in the Prem. Sam Field came with a similar prognosis and JCS was here before Ben Williams. Sad really Gonna need Steve Cook soon

No, it does not look good. What a shame! Of course I don't know JCS' situation, but I had a running injury where my hip was 'going out' and caused chronic groin pains. Even sleeping was painful. In the end, with my first race a couple of weeks away, the physio rough-housed the hip back into place and I wore a hip belt/support when running, and did specific exercises to strengthen that area. If JCS' injury is in any way similar, then I can imagine he might have been in some discomfort.

“ rubbing his groin … so came off “ - lucky he wasn’t arrested in a public place Seems like an unhappy end as a professional player; hard to see how he is ever going to get back to a suitable level of fitness for this league, or many others. Very sad for him to be honest as he is a player with plenty of ability and he’s clearly trying to get back. I have no idea whether he can be medically retired and he/we get any insurance compensation. But it feels like he needs to find an end to this misery and think about what he wants to do in this industry or outside if only for his own sanity. This just seems to be spiralling on downwards - I hope I’m wrong.
