Read again before steaming in with the knives out. I did say 'if'. I'm under no illusion that anyone is willing or able to buy him.
Honestly, everyone is so f#king hair trigger.
Massive benefit of hindsight but it’s a shame we didn’t cash in on him the summer after his ‘full’ decent season as I’m sure he’d have generated some interest. But as we didn’t then giving him a longer contract made sense as the hope would’ve been his injuries were behind him and he could keep up his great form. Just got to hope this is a minor setback and we’ll see him back in the first team soon enough.

I'm pretty sure if they had a bid for him that summer they'd have taken it

Mate, says you. Wasn't steaming in at all. Misread one bit and then was trying to give a balanced response based on the general tone of all the messages on here. Sorry if you thought I was having a go, not my intention

Get him back and regularly available for the 2nd half of the season and I’ll be overjoyed. Felt very rushed. He seemed to go from light training to playing in about 3 weeks after nada for 6months+

Where is their any reliable confirmation that he came off after 11 minutes? He was signed on a free transfer. He had one excellent season, with no specific injury record. He was young. A 4 year contract appears reasonable. We have a lot of hindsight specialists on this board. Do you really think he is deliberately conning the club?
I don't think that's entirely true, he had an injury record before he joined us and a reputation for not being often available. He then spent most of his first season with us unavailable, I don't think it's hindsight to say it was risky to extend a contract that still had 2 years to run off the back of a breakout season which included around 30 games in a season, so about 75% availability.
The issue with JCS is he's a quality defender, so it's a risk with high potential rewards but with each injury and setback it seems an even longer shot of paying off. I hope he manages to get fit but you have to wonder if it's taken it's till mentally, especially if he's feeling discomfort when scans say there's nothing wrong.

oh that's good news. Is that the end of all the hysteria on here then?
Possibly, but please go ahead and start the Pour Some Sugar On Me thread.
I thought during pre season that they were talking about JCS returning early 2026. If so he really has returned early. Fingers crossed he gets playing again after the International Break as he is a top defender in our league.

I have him on block but can easily guess the gist of what he’s posted as it follows a general theme. I’m sure he’s a lot more active on the Leicester City forum nowadays anyhow.
Declaring he had never been ITK and all the Leicester supporters hearing about how is his wife knows all the workings at The Foxes

I am in no way supporting Clarke Salter, I find it unbelievable by the amount of injury time he has had since he has been here.
But, a player has a 'big say' if he is able to play or not, he has got to feel right, he knows his body more than anyone. With regard to playing at Hanwell, the player would have to agree that he is ready to play in a match - big discussions with the medical boys when you been injured for as long as he has been, big decisions, it will not just be the medical team saying all is ok, get the shirt on, get out there.
....... so to blame medical people is not 100% right.

discomfort, although a scan has since shown nothing of note - FFS
Quite. That would indicate it’s in his head. Given how much he costs us, we need to get some psychologists in asap for him. It’ll be a drop in the ocean compared to what we’re wasting on him not playing.

Not really hindsight though, is it? There were quite a few supporters who at the time realised that that season was a one-off and the club should cash in whilst the iron was hot. As it is, his current contract expires in 2026 so he has very little time in which to prove he's worth another extension. Given his injury record, I wouldn't offer one unless it's for reduced wages topped up by bonuses related to appearances. I hope for his sake that he can get it together as at 28 he's in danger of looking back on a career full of promise yet short on achievement.
