Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 340740 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Rest of the Championship thread on 12:52 - May 13 by Loyalitat | Deep down, what's not to like. They're a well run club that has never had gandiose ideas that are way above its station. Unlike us, they didn't jettison their championship squad when they first got promoted and then squander millions on a load of mercenaries with no sell-on value. Their promoted team, via the play-offs, wasn't as good as the Warnock squad that got us into the Premier League a few years earlier. They've grown incrementally, to the point where they now have a team that has a very good chance of winning a trophy on Saturday. After 12 years in the premier league, their season ticket prices for most fans, are between £550 to £750 for the current season. If that were us, there's no way that we would have held those prices down to those very low price points for top-flight football. Hope they prevail on Saturday. [Post edited 13 May 17:33]

Agree with this, just how I see it with Palace, they deserve to win something and I hope they can beat Man City on Saturday.

The benefits of Sunderland going to the final as yet another northern team going up. If Orient, Charlton or Wycombe come up and with the 3 relegated sides coming down the Championship is not looking so dominated by teams located in the North, re-balance to midlands and the south.

I was thinking that. 2 big Northern clubs, could go to 90,000? - if allowed at Wembley.

Yeh, best team through the two games but played a dreadful backpass at the end of the first and then left their best player unmarked at a corner at the end of the second.

I think you need to add Blackburn to the list & Swansea is further away than Sheffield. The timing of Sunderland's goal was near perfection. One second to early to be perfect! [Post edited 14 May 10:03]
