Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 337185 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

My heart says yes, as their fans are great. My head says Coventry are much the better side at the moment.

Rest of the Championship thread on 20:10 - May 9 with 3310 views | Toast_R | I don't really like Sunderland so I'm going for Coventry. Deserve it after all the near misses. I'm pretty chill about Fat Frank tbh. How Coventry have gone from homeless and League 2 to where they are now, while QPR have done absolutely fckall of note in the same decade, baffles me quite frankly.

Anybody but FFCC for me. I’d have preferred BC but failing that Sunderland followed by Sheff U and finally FFCC.

Well, the Lampard factor is a huge net benefit to it. Sheff U v Sunderland final, Sheff U up and get the strongest team out of the league

The Cov player must be devastated, it was a terrible backpass by him. Poor sod.

Looked in tears walking off the pitch. Probably in the top 3 right backs in the league too

Concur ….. much as I dislike the club, I’d sooner see Chef Utd go up after they beat Slumberland in the final. Another parachute payments club departing can only be a good thing for us I think

It's obviously very harsh on him and a horrible moment, but it's what happens when your mentality is backwards and sideways all night. Sunderland scored, Coventry played properly for two minutes, scored straight back, then reverted to the passive, cagey, sideways and backwards stuff, relying on long throws. This style of modern football is a plague.
Rest of the Championship thread on 22:00 - May 10 with 2071 views | Watford_Ranger | Some great chaos in the Notts C v Wimbledon game. Notts’ striker being held by the defender but no decision given, lunges into a not great challenge but very harsh red due largely to the reaction of the Wimbledon players, striker loses his head and threatens to go full Barton. Kid in goal for Wimbledon on loan from Palace was superb.

Question is, is it the players mentality or the manger imposing his mentality on the players. Look at what is happening at Man City. Foden a shadow of his former self, Grealish disappeared of the horizon. Both gifted, created players (hate Grealish, but that's an Irish thing) both 'coached' within an inch of their lives.

Which is why although they may have the deepest pockets which would be good for us if they wanted to sign Eze, I wouldn't want what's happened to them, Grealish especially who is nowhere near the exciting, off the cuff player he was at Villa, to happen to him.

I know what you mean, but wouldn't call a season where they got to the Europa final a 'fiasco', especially if they win it. [Post edited 11 May 8:27]

Spurs would wait until 5 mins before deadline leaving us cash rich for 12 months. I think Arsenal really needed him against PSG. Come on Ebs score the winning goal inthe Cup Final....20% of 80-100 million please plus £3.50 booking fee
