Well, I don’t want to get too excited, but fair play to our Danish Pirlo.

I kind of saw the point of him today

For 45 minutes he looked a level above everyone else technically. He was pulling out flicks, forward passes, he was moving and he was creating. The best he's played for us. Faded again but this is presumably what we were watching when we signed him.

Thought he was fantastic first half, and put himself about a bit too which is a pre requisite for this league/country so he is learning. You can tell at times he’s a few steps ahead of those around him in terms of vision and technique. There’s a player in there we just need to be patient (and stop with the 6”4 jokes, talking to myself there!).

Play the rest of the season, get a good pre season in and see where he can go next year.

These passes today will look fantastic on his highlights reel. 30 mil minimum.

Completely agree. I made a point of keeping an eye on him today and while he was clearly useful in attack when we didn’t have the ball he jogged around and didn't want to get stuck in.

Sounds like a typical number 10!!

10 chances created in the last 3 games. He is a class player, great vision. Just needs to keep working off the ball, hopefully a good summer in the gym will sort that out.

Make it go away.

The first time 30 yard pass onto Yang's chest was sublime.

More of this please.

There is a player in there.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Someone is toughening him up. Hopefully a pre season in the gym and he may be as useful as we thought he would be when he came.

Never knowingly right.

QPR announce new Head of Toughening Up, Frankie 'Iron Fist' O'Bastard as a replacement for long term incumbent Rupert Gaybody, who has lost his long battle against baldness and has retired to Bognor Regis.

Actively enjoyed watching him today. Even off the ball. He seemed to be organising Yang and Kolli’s presses as well as doing his own.

I think over the last couple of seasons we’ve really struggled for quality on the ball which leads to a lack of clear cut chances. We’ve obviously heavily relied of Chair in that department. Madsen absolutely has quality, can pass the ball arguably better than anyone in the squad and it looks like he and Marti might have found a way or system that he can contribute defensively toward. All of a sudden I want to see him in the lineup.

Anyway I’ve slagged him off on here for the vast majority of the season so thought it only right to give him credit when it’s clearly due.

Imagine if he managed to turn it around and become a useful player for next season. I know like most, I'd completely written him off. I'd be delighted if he can keep improving into next season. Would save us a fair chunk of money on having to find a replacement

His ability to pick a pass and place the ball on a dime were clear from the beginning. Problem was they only happened about once a game as he seemed glued to the turf. Now he's started to move about a bit we're getting to see what he can bring to the party, and it's pretty tasty.

Another good performance.
I would say he’s the best set piece taker at the club as well.

If Warnock was in charge he would build the whole team around him. Fine him if he ventured into his own half etc etc

Thankfully Warnock isn't in charge and we can fully utilise him then!

We did. But they are such different players that its not really a comparison

Better players than him have taken a season to adapt to English football.

This signing could turn out to be a master-stroke.

Almost a shame the season is coming to a close as far as Madsen is concerned .
I think you can see the confidence growing in him . A couple of sublime flicks and touches but at the right times . Made a few mistakes but so does everybody .
Credit where it’s due , he’s stepping up and looking a decent player . About time but encouraging nonetheless

Decent performance today, seems to understand 'things' over the past few games.

Decent striker of the ball.

No need to complain over the past 3 matches.

Could be interesting to see him feeding a fast paced striker in front of him. Or Kelman maybe!

it's easy to forget that.

Viktor Gyokeres made 30 Championship appearance s in 20-21 and scored 3 goals. Two seasons later Sporting Lisbon paid 20 million euros for him.

Lovely pass on him but he's very much a luxury player but he's definitely been better in that last 3 games

Also can't knock him for this

It's a massive but very very welcome surprise to have seen Mr Madsens form recently sky rocket.

Never been the type, like a few on here, kick him when he's down.

But what contrasting form...

A player that can see a long pass or flick with a cheeky back heel - we have not seen that type of player for many years !!

And a lot on here complaining about his lack of physicality from their own bedrooms, but improvements seen in all aspects of his game.

Well done Nico - good to see...

Reminds me of Mike Fillery when we signed him from a small second division club called Chelsea. He seemed to be off the pace and disinterested, and got booed by some fans. He was just adjusting to life at QPR and by the end of the season, he was gliding through the gears and a pleasure to watch. It just took time for him to find his rhythm. He wasn't blessed with great pace or eye-catching energy but he had vision and could find an incisive pass or match-winning assist. The following season he was bossing the midfield (with a little help from Gary Waddock and John Gregory) and I hope Madsen does the same next year.
