Be interesting to see how the players respond this weekend The whole point of a DoF (I thought) was managers can come and go. But that means the players have to buy into what the DoF does and not the manager doesn't it?.
If the players down tools, which it kinda looked like last Saturday, (although Burnley were immense.) than it should give us an idea of what they think of Nourry. I wouldn't be surprised if Nourry goes too. |

But this sounds like the party line, doesn’t it? How does putting him on gardening leave - telling the world you don’t want him and preventing us hiring a new HC in the interim - give us any leverage in negotiations on compensation.

We are in a purgatory where we rely on the owners to put money in, whilst knowing that they haven’t got the slightest clue as to how to run a football club.
I thought Marti was a superb manager and I’m gutted to see him depart. Quite frankly, given what he has had to deal with, I don’t blame him if he’s been making eyes at other clubs.
Nourry is an inexperienced chancer who is totally out of his depth.
Does anyone really think he’ll get a good manager on board who he won’t subsequently fall out with?

He's definitely worked the crowd brilliantly. All this stuff about if he wrote a book there'd be a chapter on the QPR fans while he knows that his agent is actively looking for another club is a bit rich but most are happy to drink it in.
I've no problem with him being ambitious and wanting to move on to a better/bigger club. I think we're so used to changing managers when we're sick to the back teeth of the current one that we've forgotten that this is part of the game.
I'm sure there are challenges working with Nourry and the recruitment last summer failed in areas but also did okay in others.
Let's see who comes in before we completely lose our minds. Back in November, people were queueing up to say we were definitely getting relegated. We weren't. Right now nobody really knows what next season will look like. At least we've got a bit of time to try and get our house in order. |

Bit early to scapegoat Noury. None of us actually know what has happened but earlier in the week it seemed that MC was being touted around by his agent.
So is this like when Leicester were sniffing after Holloway?
Wouldnt think Noury daft enough to take this action without good reason when season tkts are up for renewal.

Sad to see Marti go and would have been happy to see him around next season.
But I have to ask myself why. Is it more to do with the fact that he is a really nice guy rather than his achievements at our football club? Right now, I honestly don't know.
This season has been nuts. Started awfully, bottom of the table and then we recovered big time. Why? Again, I don't know. My guess would be that we started the season attempting to play the style of football that Nourry wants us to play and then we changed. But then we crashed again and limped to safety. Why? Towards the end of the season Marti was getting his second string to play better than his first string. You could argue that Ronnie Edwards contributed as much as Marti to ensuring our safety.
Although happy for Marti to stay I wasn't expecting much next season but that would also be because of our poor squad, not having the cash to recruit known good players and of course our CEO/DOF.
I think the most important thing we have to realise is that with or without Marti we are still a basket case of a club.
Who will Marti’s replacement be? Will we be looking to recruit another Head Coach who has little involvement with player recruitment and is told by our CEO/DOF what style of football to play?

Is that just the market and bookies adjusting to our announcement?
If it’s a done deal, hold onto him in his role and negotiate the comp. How does garden leave help? It feels like a meltdown, a power play, a short sighted emotional decision. Unless, of course, Cifuentes resigned and they had to put him on garden leave whilst they thrashed out the comp before his notice expires and he can work elsewhere anyway. [Post edited 29 Apr 23:40]
