Still think he’ll end up back in Irish football or League 2 (at best) before too long. Brilliant business on our part.

I'll get in first with the persecution complex reply - we'll have to refund 20% of the loss.

Fascinated to know what Eustace saw in him with us to take him everywhere he goes.

He was at least busy when he came on against MK Dons, but of 3 good positions he found himself in, he blazed one miles over, smashed one wide from a difficult angle when he should have squared it, and I think the other one went wide too. Plays with his head down the whole time, lacks composure, and just doesn't look a footballer. Too on, the City Technical director's thinking was that Armstrong could be the next Semenyo... it could happen, but it seems unlikely.

We got £1.5m for him, I read, with addons, which won't happen of course. Sell on if it's 20% and he goes somewhere like L1 for say £500K, that's still an extra £100k. Clearing down that Richards debt bit-by-bit ;p I see we don't get an injury update on Richards, which shows where the club sees him, but at least the club is utilising the Physio team 100% with him and the rest. Selling Dykes and Armstrong caused outrage last season, and the same with Kelman. Lucky the Eze sale will hide these canny sales, and maybe we can sell a few more. Like if Lloyd starts smashing L1 when he's fit, we can now say the going price is £3.5m and so on :P

That sounds exactly the same as he was when he was at QPR. Maybe the City Technical Director imagined that Sinclair's raw power could be honed somehow, but that evidently hasn't happened.

It's a gamble on promise because he's got things you can't teach (raw pace and power). If everything clicks, you've got a £40m player there. I don't think there's a player in our squad today you could say that about. Of course, getting things to click is the key...

Of what I saw of him, I was left with the distinct impression that he'd burst through the youth ranks solely on his power, pace, and the belief that either the football bit would come and/or it could be coached in to him. Obviously, he must have had some skills. But for my money he was a less effective Forrest Gump and getting a wedge for him a result.

Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 on 10:26 - Aug 22 with 2797 views | slmrstid | Kasey McAteer going from Leicester to Ipswich for £12m. I know nothing about Kasey McAteer but given how inflated transfer fees are now I suspect thats significantly overpriced. Leicester seem to be trying to sell anything not nailed down at the minute with El-Khanoussi possibly off to Palace to replace Eze and other rumoured outgoings. They've still not signed any outfield players either yet I don't think. There's been grumblings about Morecambe managing it since their takeover, but not them. They'll either be going on a mad incoming spree over the next 9 days or Marti really has got a tough job on his hands up here.

Wrexham can get in the sea. Enough with their owners, their jacked up income from people who don’t even know football paying for subscriptions, and brands jumping on the bandwagon. They have basically whored themselves out for a taste of the high life. I hope they are relegated. It is not good for football.

Yep. However, to the usual refrain " he's too old and we don't want any of that". Even though he's physically strong, rarely injured, has a decent champioship record alongside the requisite chamionship experience". Oh, and he scored 11 premier league goals, all for £500k. No, let's bring in the next waif from the Antipodes or reportedly spend anything from £3million and upwards on Saito instead. Saito, I believe, hasn't played any competitive football to date. He’s a far better version of Frey. No doubt a bit of an ego but he’s a leader. I always fancied him to play well against us.

I'm starting to think that Leicester brought in Begovic to avoid needing chaperones on the bench for half their team. He probably the dbs check he got for his goalkeeping schools as a selling point.
