Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient 12:00 - Feb 8 with 89065 viewsDannyPaddox

Up against Man City in the FFS that was offside FA Cup. I prepare to stand corrected but I think Charlie is still our player but as I take as much interest in modern football players contracts and transfers as I do in mobile phone contracts I could be wrong. Either way seems like a good lad and having a decent season with a club I like so up the O’s!

Up against a central defender today in Ruben Dias who’s worth approx £75 mil … would love to see Charlie meg him.

I'm no sports scientist but I do think it's often dangerous and counter productive to force physical development of youngsters.

People always cite Michael Owen and his exploding hamstrings in his latter years.

I hope Kelman returns and rips it up.... double figures would be the stuff of dreams and make him the newly crowned King of W12 looking at recent years returns from strikers.
However, sometimes it just doesn't work for certain players at certain clubs.

We'll see........

"I'm no sports scientist but I do think it's often dangerous and counter productive to force physical development of youngsters."

Fair point.

But Kelman is 23 now. If the plan was to increase his body strength it could surely have been done before this season.

When Les was at Besiktas, the thread dealing with the merits of his return only amounted to nine messages on the old 'LoftforPigeons' noticeboard!

No pressure on Charlie!

If we accept that other players in the past have had to go out on loan to improve ( and we can include Smyth and Chair in that) then it seems a no brainer to give Kelman a try out. If we accept that players playing well in the past, in the division below us, have caught our eye and encouraged us to spend decent money on them (Dickie), then it seems a no brainer to give Kelman a try out. If we accept that some players develop later than others, then it seems a no brainer to give Kelman a try out. If we are hoping that Larkeche will solve our LB problems (on loan in Scotland) then it seems a no-brainer to give Kelman a try out. If we bitch and moan about improving Ronnie Edwards for Southampton next year, then it seems like a no-brainer to give Kelman a try out. When your four main strikers have a dozen league goals BETWEEN them , it seems like a no brainer to give Kelman a try out

Whilst you have in truth summed up the whole thread in one post perfectly, you have missed out one player... A player (who is the best example) that we benefitted from to the tune of 20 million and we are STILL benefitting from him

I am of course talking about EBERECHI EZE (Loaned to Wycombe)

But then there are hundreds of Eze threads on this forum so easily forgotten

Slight difference. Everyone understood Eze was good enough it was only a matter of time, and the loan was to get him some minutes, toughen him up a bit etc. Also to probably help an old Ranger out (Ainsworth).

Kelman, the loan was to keep him in the shop window and potentially get some money for him, or if he rips it up make a judgement on whether he is actually good enough and reintegrate him to the squad. For what it's worth, I think we should give him a chance next season.

I think if you look back to pre season reports there may be some evidence that the bulking up started in the summer, a couple of years back.

‘Big Mac’ Bonne ?

He was probably offside, both at Ronald’s house and at the gym.

100% he merits a chance next season. We're a side without a cutting edge. We'd be insane not to give him a chance. As others have said, if he weren't our player, forums would be bemoaning not looking at a player with so many goals.

For what it's worth, I always thought he looked lively in terms of effort when he played for us and it's hardly like he had a consistent run of games like Conor Washington.

Only 4 but looking at goals+assists he is on 24 which is the highest with Alfie May second on 23 (15 goals + 8 assists).

Comparable output to Ivan Toney or Ollie Watkins when they were at Peterborough and Exeter.

Kelman will be back next season, that is beyond doubt. You can't do what he has done one division below us and not have earned the right for a crack in our starting eleven.
Someone above mentioned the error in forcing him to 'toughen up ', but I've heard that is exactly what Wellens did, in fact he (Wellens), has admitted himself to being all over Charlie as that's what brings out his quality, left to his own devices he drifts out of the game.
Welcome back young man, show us what you can do.

I would not be paying any attention to Orient if not for our Chaz Mk2. I am really rooting for them as one of the form teams and likely to match up with Deadpool in the league one playoffs. That has to have him hyped.

Hypothetically speaking if I stopped off in a pub in an east London postcode on my way home, I might have heard Orient fans singing ‘Kelman again, ole ole’.

It’s possible that neither of those things happened.

He's improved markedly and is full of confidence. The goal showed a desire to get on the end of things whilst the assist showed composure and an eye for a pass. He could've easily shot himself but elected to find a teammate in a better position.

The problem is: is Kelman willing to stay with QPR or looking for a move as he is the top scorer in League One, he is not short of offers elsewhere and his contract with us is not a long one.

Third is probably ‘Buster’ Edwards and he’s not ours !

Fourth is probably Madsen - yeah. Redemption time.

Dunne sliding down the charts at five as we close the season.

Danish Jesus = one hit wonder as of yesterday.

Need to get Gallup in.
