We ain’t paying for anyone I’m sure young Christian would sooner do the job himself than write a cheque (maybe more than one…. a couple of others may have to head to Espania) I’d like to have the honest facts on Season Ticket renewals now in comparison to last summer. Might be a Marti factor relating to both |

The QPR summer managers rumours thread on 01:02 - May 27 by SydneyRs | I guess it comes down to whether those are his preferred tactics or if it was a case of getting the best out of what he had available. |
Immediately after Muslic was appointed (New Year) they immediately signed two 6' 4" CB's from Central Europe, plus a big strong FB. Also started picking Hazard regularly in nets, who's 6' 6" (though not esp brilliant in the air, as it happens). Fair play if he identified a glaring weakness in Rooney's set-up, rather than being dogmatically wedded to one particular style of play. But it's something any prospective employer ought to dig deeper into (previous clubs etc).

That's good insight, thanks.

Er, no. But by chance I saw them play a couple of times after Rooney left and was struck by just how long-ball they were. Which is not a criticism, since imo there is no "right way" to play, just one that suits your players and circumstances. The other thing which struck me was just how much effort the players were putting in, for a team struggling at the wrong end of the table. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I’m sure that Nourry would like to write the theme tune, sing the theme tune and do the acting….he's got the training gear with his initials already - allegedly. Failing that, it’ll be two of the three jobs combined with a coach that just does what he’s told to do. The younger, cheaper, less well known and less experienced the better from his perspective as it gives him more control and less pushback on any decisions relating to selection, formation and recruitment etc. I hope to fcuk I’m wrong and everyone can tell me I’m an idiot when someone decent starts but it does feel kind of inevitable.

Inevitable to you maybe. You do realise Hoos is still heavily involved in the decisions?

No doubt he is - hence why we have a CEO that is also the DOF, with zero experience of either jobs. That’s a nice little buffer for him.

I think he'd do well there Hopefully we go for Rueben Selles, done a good job everywhere he's been

Totally agree - Marti and Bristol City look a perfect fit to me. Don't hate the club either so no problem if he goes there and does well. Would rather he goes abroad and does well though, still going to be painful watching a good man and good manager that we surely could have kept.

Reuben Selles had the best managerial record in terms of win and points per game percentages for the last twelve seasons at Reading who previously were awful for a while, also. Be happy with this appointment myself
