Wycombe fan here. This is so well played by QPR - somehow staying under the radar while everyone thought it was Leicester or Swansea (there was even a Leicester ITK saying fee agreed) only for you to have been the Kone Sweepstakes Winner all along. Bravo!
He may be a bit of an uncut diamond at first, but he has been developing at an insane rate for us. We picked him up from the bottom of the non-league barrel in January 2024 and he was already our first choice 9 by the start of the next season, over the likes of (an admittedly ageing) Sam Vokes and Dan Udoh (a very experienced L1 striker).
I wish you nothing but the best - I have become used to following QPR positively owing to Eze being on loan with us to make his league debut (playing so well that Wycombe fans all agreed he would play for England and a top PL club some day) and then later (don't hate me) Ainsworth bringing his "style" over. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Rich does for you - some players are so special you just can't help following their career even when they move on. |  | | |

Taylor Richards injured himself during a medical for Birmingham - passed ours and is often injured.
Charlie Austin, I believe, failed a medical at I think Hull, before we signed him. Obviously this one turned out well.
I know for a fact that we've signed players with knee injuries who then didn't actually go on to play for us.
Not entirely sure we're worse than other clubs - perhaps it's in the risk profile to try and sign players who're a bit more injury prone but are 'better' - but I don't really pay much attention to other clubs.

Even I will start to gain some optimism if we can get him. Mainly because it would show that we do have some ambition as a football club rather than just to relentlessly go for youth we hope to make a profit on. I just want us to remember that we are QPR, as someone just said, not a latter day Crewe (without the awful bits obviously).

Been generally a bit skeptical of some of the Nourry squad building (unbalanced team, too many DS players etc.) but if he's got Ba for free and Kone for 3m+ addons then I will say he's played a bit of a blinder here.

I'm wondering if the fee is being expunged by the compensation we are probably due from Wycombe for getting Gareth Ainsworth in as manager? I love Gazza as much as anyone else at both clubs but that's got to be worth £5m in compensation, surely.
On a serious note, a few friends I have who follow Wycombe think he's a really top player. Hopefully they'll get some good money to reinvest and we'll get a chance to see if he can set the Championship alight. |  |

If the comment about a dig at Nourry over this, was aimed at me.
My comments were in admiration of what Nourry could have achieved with this, as would be another great signing above other clubs from supposedly higher ranks in the food chain.

West London Sport now saying it looks like it might happen. Player has said he wants to join us and fee to be finalised. I think the main fee is agreed but the addons and details of that to be sorted. Would potentially be a good signing.
