The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:28 - Aug 11 with 2743 views | Shev | Wycombe fan here. This is so well played by QPR - somehow staying under the radar while everyone thought it was Leicester or Swansea (there was even a Leicester ITK saying fee agreed) only for you to have been the Kone Sweepstakes Winner all along. Bravo! He may be a bit of an uncut diamond at first, but he has been developing at an insane rate for us. We picked him up from the bottom of the non-league barrel in January 2024 and he was already our first choice 9 by the start of the next season, over the likes of (an admittedly ageing) Sam Vokes and Dan Udoh (a very experienced L1 striker). I wish you nothing but the best - I have become used to following QPR positively owing to Eze being on loan with us to make his league debut (playing so well that Wycombe fans all agreed he would play for England and a top PL club some day) and then later (don't hate me) Ainsworth bringing his "style" over. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Rich does for you - some players are so special you just can't help following their career even when they move on.

If this is true, i think maybe we have had confirmation Eze will definitely be sold. Otherwise with our new strategy doesnt add up. If it is true though matched up with a couple of other transfers in, The question is : NOURRY HAS DIRT ON ALL LEAGUE ONE CLUBS or NOURRY HAS MAFIOSI CONNECTIONS You heard it here first "ALLEGEDLY" [Post edited 11 Aug 16:34]

Thank you for the insight and this is really exciting. Kone Dembele Chair Poku We're really building an EFL super team with our attack

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 14:48 - Aug 11 by JamieNaz | It's in our DNA. Mark Hately. Taylor Richards injured himself during a medical for Birmingham - passed ours and is often injured. Charlie Austin, I believe, failed a medical at I think Hull, before we signed him. Obviously this one turned out well. I know for a fact that we've signed players with knee injuries who then didn't actually go on to play for us. Not entirely sure we're worse than other clubs - perhaps it's in the risk profile to try and sign players who're a bit more injury prone but are 'better' - but I don't really pay much attention to other clubs. Anyway, based off the one YouTube 'highlights' compilation, this Ba lad is useless. |
Still does not explain why any insurance company would accept it.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:46 - Aug 11 with 2168 views | DieByYourSide | Agent leak? After the back and forth over Chuba Akpom you'd imagine one of the higher paying Championship teams might come in for him. Unless CN can really sell him on The Project as was done with Poku.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:46 - Aug 11 with 2166 views | sparkey | Kone - not an academy 'baller', someone who has had to work to get where he is & will not see us as a downgrade but will treat the badge with respect. Big fan if we pull this off
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:49 - Aug 11 with 2070 views | GaryBannister86 | Even I will start to gain some optimism if we can get him. Mainly because it would show that we do have some ambition as a football club rather than just to relentlessly go for youth we hope to make a profit on. I just want us to remember that we are QPR, as someone just said, not a latter day Crewe (without the awful bits obviously). I am guessing that 'agreed a fee' does not make it a certainty, however.

Really tearing up the striker stocks after last season - more evidence of lessons learned, even if they will refuse to admit they made a mistake. Their actions are showing they know they did.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:51 - Aug 11 with 2009 views | Monkey_Roots | Wow. Just wow. Very very pleased if this happens. So it looks like £3m rising to £5m as long as he doesn't tell anyone how long his contract is.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:59 - Aug 11 with 1801 views | Stainrod | Really exciting news and could change our prospects and the look of our entire team. Not sure why the need for the caustic digs from some posters, if Nourry has pulled this off in the teeth of competition from half the Championship maybe a simple “well done” would be simpler? Nourry talked about signing players who had overcome adversity and this player has a pretty extraordinary back story. Not going to celebrate tho until the interview appears about how he was excited by the project…
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:59 - Aug 11 with 1787 views | EuroRanger | Been generally a bit skeptical of some of the Nourry squad building (unbalanced team, too many DS players etc.) but if he's got Ba for free and Kone for 3m+ addons then I will say he's played a bit of a blinder here. Still want a LB and CM though

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 16:09 - Aug 11 by DannyPaddox | This one’s come under the radar. Belgian back-up keeper Dennis Elbeaux. Only 18 so probably straight to the Development Squad. Via the treatment room obvs. |
I dunno. I'm just sick of hearing 'One day like this'.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 17:09 - Aug 11 with 1565 views | bosh67 | I'm wondering if the fee is being expunged by the compensation we are probably due from Wycombe for getting Gareth Ainsworth in as manager? I love Gazza as much as anyone else at both clubs but that's got to be worth £5m in compensation, surely. On a serious note, a few friends I have who follow Wycombe think he's a really top player. Hopefully they'll get some good money to reinvest and we'll get a chance to see if he can set the Championship alight.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 17:14 - Aug 11 with 1464 views | Third_Division_South | Hopefully, this means we’ve found a home for Celar and he’s off. If he stays and we get Kone I’d definitely send Kolli out on loan until Christmas.

Given our injury record I wouldn't be gutted to have the depth to be honest. Especially given Frey's 20 game a season maximum performance. I think Kolli will stay to play LW.

If the comment about a dig at Nourry over this, was aimed at me. My comments were in admiration of what Nourry could have achieved with this, as would be another great signing above other clubs from supposedly higher ranks in the food chain. Ie tongue in cheek attempts at humour !!! Hey ho, jokes are a thing of the past ...... Its outstanding work if true. [Post edited 11 Aug 17:22]

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 17:20 - Aug 11 with 1329 views | sdm1508 | West London Sport now saying it looks like it might happen. Player has said he wants to join us and fee to be finalised. I think the main fee is agreed but the addons and details of that to be sorted. Would potentially be a good signing. I think the club have finally realised that it's not our style of play that prevents are strikers scoring, it's the fact they aren't very good and time to change it up
