The QPR summer managers rumours thread on 09:31 - Jun 3 by KensalT | I hadn't seen that before. Chair has the most appearances for us at this level and needs one more goal to equal Mick Leach as our second highest scorer at this level. But still a long way to go to equal Rodney Marsh. And I never knew Moany Tony has the most wins against us at this level. We should give him the job if only to stop the bugger beating us. And according to that data Lyndon Dykes has a better goals per game for us in the second tier than Kevin Gallen, which is mind boggling if it's correct: - Dykes 35 goals in 156 games - Gallen 35 goals in 186 games [Post edited 3 Jun 9:41]

Gallen did play a lot of championship games in midfield

Yes, I know. But it is still surprising. It works out roughly as: Dykes one goal every 4.5 games Gallen one goal every 5.3 games I guess it's a great example of why we shouldn't just rely on data but need to back it up with actual knowledge of the game! [Post edited 3 Jun 10:29]

“I guess it's a great example of why we shouldn't just rely on data but need to back it up with actual knowledge of the game!” Might see if Loftflags can do this for the opening game of the season .

Still has joined Southampton Sage has replaced him at Lens Thorup turned us down Mason has gone to WBA Muslic has gone to Schalke Marti is still on garden Leave. Cleverley & O'Neill still available Going well isnt it? Wonder if the issue is a 28yo CEO.

Oh yes SW. Am not sitting on it, I know that. I like to think of myself as fair and if reasons, unknown to me are explained and justified, all well and good. But we have chosen to keep every single thing quiet. Again, reasons not given for that. Was in a peed off mood all day yesterday.Today I love everybody, just not the QPR hierarchy are still not in that category, as yet !!!!

Given that Nourry convinced the owners that he was the best man as CEO and director of football then it’s only logical that……….

Considering how long Nourry had been planning on parting ways with Cifuentes, and considering how the club were supposedly shortlisting coaches that would provide continuity of style should he leave, we do seem to be dithering about actually appointing someone

I'd sooner we get the right coach rather than appoint the first name that becomes available just to calm the nerves of the Loft for Words faithful. I don't see why Nourry is getting such flack when you consider the managerial appointments made without him - Ainsworth, Beale, Critchley, Holloway, McLaren and it goes on and on.......... Give the bloke a chance. If he fcks up then fair enough, but clearly there are some on here who are going to have a pop regardless.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happened, and for us, it would draw the line under a negative that's dragging on. It would be a good appointment for Marti too.

I would love to know the truth of it. Both parties clearly wanted rid of each other. Did Nourry put Marti on gardening leave in order to actively pursue another manager, knowing that Marti would leave in his own time? Could they not agree an equitable agreement, and we didn't want to pay him off outright, believing he'll leave on his own volition? Or is it more malicious? Certainly we couldn't do a summers player recruitment with Marti at the helm, knowing he was looking for an out. You'd hope we have someone lined up, seeing how obvious this all was, although if we did talk to another manager while he's still under contract, presumably we'd put Nourry on gardening leave as well. While they're at it, they can dig a big hole and stick Richards in it.

Brizzle like wasting money on us too. Armstrong won't be happy if Marti turns up.

Whisper is Rob Edwards or Michael Carrick if Boro decide to sack him as Edwards will likely go in there.

If Edwards is good enough for Boro or City then surely he's good enough for us? If he's not being considered by Nourry-bot is it because he doesn't fit our playing style?

Luton fans loved him but 'allegedly' he suffers from depression and that affected his abilities with Luton. Just going on what 2-3 unrelated Luton fans told me. That said, Edwards is a very good manager.

Struggled at Watford, mind, who didn’t think that well of him. I’m not sure about Edwards. I’m not actually sure why. Carrick is a weird one too. Can’t help but feel he has underdelivered at Boro. At the same time, he’s been around in this league for a while and I think he has something about him. I’m not sure either of them are better than Cifuentes mind. But we’ll need to move on from that. Whoever ends up in the role, it needs to go well for them (and Nourry) quite quickly.
The QPR summer managers rumours thread on 21:44 - Jun 3 with 2407 views | Logman | Looked to me like the Luton players had stopped playing for Edwards when they came to us in Jan. If that happens we are dead. I thought the players wanting to play for MC and turn the losing sequence round was one of the reasons why we stayed up.
The QPR summer managers rumours thread on 23:59 - Jun 3 with 2058 views | daveB | Rueben Selles seems such an obvious appointment for us but the fact we are not even linked with him makes me think there is no chance of that one
